HUGE Swarm Just In at California!!!!! 36 Richters at LONE PINE!!!!! WATCH CALIFORNIA!!!!!

WATCH CALIFORNIA!!!!! This Major Earthquake was reduced in scope but could still be in the 7 to 8 Richters Range and I had just posted my guess for the exact magnitude at 7.6 late last night!!! You never know when something like this will happen again and we DO know for sure there is a lot going on with earthquakes so be watching for what could happen here and the New Moon Window starts officially Monday Afternoon but it looks like now something is happening just the same!!! New Moon Window Will Start at 4pm Monday!!! Guessing PERU!!! Exactly a 7.6!!?

I was also entertaining the number 7.2 Richters since I am trying to stay away from Mega Thruster like I had been saying due to not really seeing that much in the way of foreshocks. Easter Island had a few registering like 600 or 800 miles west of that island, but I haven't actually seen any for Santiago, Chile. I am seeing a lot of them that agree with my reading of the globe/straight line tool that I have just now completed and everything points directly to PERU!!! I suppose one might say Lima, Peru except that from the direction all this earthquake energy looks to be coming from it more or less covers the whole entire distance of the Pacific Coast at Peru all the way north to Ecuador who is already on another alert from Hurricane Flossie with that line intersecting it! One reading went directly across Costa Rica!!! I have a friend who has a house there in case a Quake Chase there ever looks like it might occur. Problem I came up with there is they tend to have too huge of earthquakes in Costa Rica and this one was originally thought to be going as high as 9.3 Richters so No Thanks to that Quake Chase right at the moment. AND does Central America ever have Huge Earthquakes/Huge Tsunamis??? Does Peru??? Current Estimate for EXACT size of upcoming Peru Earthquake is 7.6 Richters

The exact moment of the August 2013 New Moon will be at 21:52 (04:52pm CDT) on August 6, 2013 therefore the August 2013 New Moon Window will begin around 4pm CDT on Monday Afternoon, August 5, 2013 so begin watching immediately on Monday because experience is starting to now tell me that we are not only watching for a HUGE Earthquake. . . but we also now have a New Moon that will be a Major Player in the earthquake energy being released or triggered. Looks Like 68 Richters Struck Hawaii!!! New Swarm at Washington!!! WHERE'S This Earthquake Energy Headed??? NOW 7.0 to 8.4 Richters

Spent some time while traveling today trying to calculate the maximum magnitude of the upcoming Major Earthquake that I had been thinking might be a Mega-Thruster and came up with the following. Yes, there was 2 or 3 inches of movement at New Zealand and Cook Strait, and I did accurately guess Easter Island, AND my phone just chimed tonight with yet another 5 Richters Shaker at Easter Island. That does now equal three at Easter Island, but in previous HUGE swarms or huge foreshocks. . . 3 x 5 is usually NOT an indication of a MEGATHRUSTER! NO! 3 x 7 might be. Do you see where this basic math is headed. So I want to write today to say that the range of this still Major Earthquake that looks like it might be headed on a direct course for South America, although our West Coast is now getting some of this, might now be in the range of 7.0 to 8.4 still big enough that the biggest Santiago or Chile earthquakes should not go over that number, but it does not mean to expect an 8.4 to strike Van Nuys, either.

Until then if someone wants to try lining up the tectonic plate boundary between Australian and Pacific Plates with the epicenter of recent New Zealand 6.5 with Easter Island Earthquakes on a globe and see where abouts in Central America that line makes landfall. . . then YOU might have the exact epicenter of the very next Major Earthquake, hopefully not a megathruster! Now LOTS of Earthquakes at Hilo, Hawaii COULD That Be a Factor in Something MAJOR About To Shake?

Two more earthquakes within a few miles of where Tropical Storm Flossie made landfall on July 29, 2013 at Hilo, Hawaii and the total is now several with the running total of all the earthquake energy at just that one location being what I might call critical. This could turn out to become that next major earthquake at Columbia and Ecuador, although as I said at the very end of yesterdays EQ Blog, both of those countries are also situated along the shores of the Pacific Tectonic Plate or the edge of it, rather. Therefore there is this new slight amount of earthquake energy heading directly for the heart of Columbia. . . but all of that energy from that 2 or 3 inches Eastward movement of Marlborough and Cook Strait heading due East or thereabouts across the Pacific from New Zealand that has already made itself known at Easter Island.

Easter Island has a huge runway at their airport there that the Space Shuttle was at one time designated to use in an emergency especially for polar orbits. I also found three hotels right there on that island, but am not interested right at the moment in flying out there. Sort of reminds me of Catalina Island looking at some of the pics. Made up of three major volcanoes and also consisting of a few smaller ones including one that grew together with the others, it is a Sea-Mount or the top of a huge mountain that rises above the ocean in a bigger chain of mountains. Have not checked into what route a person would need to fly to get there, but most likely will need to change planes somewhere along the way.

Finally finished my newest book today Bringing Earthquakes To Life the First Draft and am now editing it with the Final Draft expected to be completed in a few days. Might just post it somewhere in it's entirety so folks like you reading this right now can have access to it, although I have a pic list of 28 pictures so far so am not sure how pics will load into E-Book Format.

Earthquake Coming to Columbia or Ecuador? ALSO Alert Continues for MegaThruster!!! Foreshocks Confirmed At Easter Island!!!

Checked the number of days since the landfall of Typhoon Soulik at Taiwan and tomorrow will be Day 20 and the Great Sumatra Earthquake and Tsunami struck on Day 23 after the landfall of Super Typhoon Nanmadol nearby at the Philippines. I am always especially worried about days such as that one which will fall this Monday! Although a Major MegaThruster could occur in the days before Monday. There IS a Major MegaThruster out there in the waters of the Pacific and Indian Oceans somewhere and I want to say that the Easter Island Earthquakes are all we have to go on right at the moment. . . that and the fact that I suggested we watch Easter Island when 5 to 8 Centimeters of movement to the east was detected at New Zealand after their 6.5 on July 20, 2013. Today I am not mentioning Columbia and Ecuador to add to the above list, rather they came up in a check of the potential earthquake energy after the landfall of Tropical Storm Flossie at Hilo, Hawaii where they also had a huge number of foreshocks indicating movement of the Pacific Tectonic Plate could result. The line of earthquake energy from Flossie also intersects Jakarta, Indonesia for those of you that might notice that line now crosses directly the line along which we are watching for this Major Mega Thruster Earthquake to strike! Keep an eye on Jakarta, Indonesia because it has two potentially dangerous lines of Major Earthquake Energy CROSSING there! Similar lines also crossed at Islamabad prior to that huge 7.6 Richters Earthquake in October of 2005 and it does seem possible Jakarta could be at or near the epicenter of this still upcoming Mega Thruster Major Earthquake!!! MegaThruster as Big as That 9.5 Great Chile Earthquake of 1960??? Santiago? Lima, Peru? West Coast???

There was one additional 2.5 on that very island where Tropical Storm Flossie made landfall late Sunday Night at Hawaii for a grand total of 6.6 Richters of earthquake energy that accompanied the landfall of Flossie there when all totaled, although I don't exactly know if a grand total is of any value. Do watch for some more earthquake energy to strike Hawaii and I wouldn't be surprised if they got one as big as 6 Richters in the coming hours and days. Also do remember there is a MegaThruster out there somewhere and I suppose in a rare example Flossie and 6.6 series could trigger something big, however I do not see it as big as 9.

Chile on the other hand did have a 9.5 in 1960 and this upcoming one that just had a foreshock at Easter Island of 4.6 could mean it is heading directly for the West Coast of Chile right on time and should be there very soon. Hopefully NOT as big as 9 Richters. Hopefully NOT as big as 8 Richters. Maybe, then, we might watch in the 7 Richter Range.

Today I worked in Chicago Film Production all day and got some of the BEST Close-Ups ever in my entire life!!! Going over, and over again so close between the camera and two of the stars of the show that I was actually getting to know the Cameraman personally!!! That doesn't happen too often in acting. . . but it did today!!! Great Day for me as far as my acting career is concerned and with that Great Picasso staring at us from directly across the street all day it was a wonderful day of filming in Beautiful Downtown Chicago!!!!!

Flossie Hits Hawaii, Hilo Gets Two Small Earthquakes!!! WATCH For More!!!!!

Flossie made landfall at Hilo, Hawaii today and left me with 2 earthquakes to report right on the island of Hilo just a few miles away. A 2.4 Struck 25 Miles South of Hilo at 8:29pm tonight Central Time: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/hv60534496#summary AND there was a 1.7 earlier tonight at 5:33pm 25 Miles South Southwest near a place called Volcano, Hawaii. It is probable that there will be more earthquake energy at Hawaii and this big windstorm continues to travel along that line of islands out there in the Pacific where there is already a lot of Major Earthquake stuff present including that 5 to 8 Centimeter movement of Marlborough and Cook Strait connected to last weeks New Zealand 6.5 Earthquake.

I still want to say Santiago, Chile and Lima, Peru was already on the list, here, and don't forget Guam where they additionally might well be situated out ahead of the smallish amount of movement today at Hawaii. With all of this earthquake stuff going on it seems like it might be time to let the California Earthquake Prediction Evaluation Council know all of this is going on very soon. Tomorrow I will be working in Chicago on a TV Series that just started shooting there this week and so I will be writing with more updated information later in the week and might send out a few "Tweets" from the location tomorrow depending how things go there. Tropical Storm Flossie Making Landfall at Hawaii, Soon!!! Watch The Pacific for MegaThruster!!! 7.6 to 9.3!!!

It will now be sometime on Monday that Tropical Storm or Hurricane Flossie makes a direct strike at the Big Island of Hawaii with winds of 65 Mph and higher gusts! I always expect that when one of these like this with as much as 15 inches of rain strikes such a region as Hawaii, Haiti or Puerto Rico, in this case Hawaii. . . that there might ALSO be a Major Earthquake that shakes that exact epicenter right exactly as all of this severe weather and major windstorm is happening. Be Watching Hawaii to see if my theory there is of any value, because they should be getting at least say a 5.8 or 5.9 accompanying this huge windstorm with tons of rain in the coming 24 hours or so!

Remember the islands that moved between 2 and 3 inches during that New Zealand Earthquake the night of the Full Moon last week. . . because that will still now continue to keep moving and I want to continue to remember to watch Santiago, Chile and probably Lima, Peru where they could soon be getting this big giant MegaThruster Major Earthquake that could still be out there in the 7.6 to 9.3 Richters Range. This is not really exactly related to the business that is about to strike Hawaii, either, but Tropical Storm Flossie will increase the amount of ambient earthquake energy currently out around the Pacific.

I'm looking at prices to fly Quantas and Air Vanuatu for a possible Quake Chase to Port Villa/Luganville, Vanuatu where they might soon be getting some of this earthquake/tsunami that could still be coming! Just having some trouble figuring out if I can change planes in Brisbane and fly on to Vaunatu without a Visitors Visa for Australia which looks like it's quite difficult to obtain! 5.4 Guam!!! Were We Watching Guam? Also: Marlbourough Moved 5cm East in New Zealand 6.5!!! It's Heading For Santiago, Chile!!!

I overlooked an earthquake that struck up around Eureka, California in yesterdays EQ Blog, although I am thinking it was in the 3 or 4 Richters Range and I want to right now report that a 5.4 just came in near Guam where we have been watching believe it or not! SO, do continue to watch for even a whole lot more shaking up around Guam where they might be not far from where Typhoon Soulik made landfall at Taiwan. Of course Mandalay, Banda Aceh, and out towards PNG and Vanuatu, too!!!

The latest news is that a town called Marlborough moved 5 Centimeters (2+ Inches) East in the 6.5 Earthquake at Wellington, New Zealand back on the day of the Full Moon. This story here also says the Cook Strait moved 8 Centimeters!!! (3+ Inches) @ http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/quake-pushed-blenheim-up-5cm-east-scientists-5518386 and mentions that the fault line the earthquake struck on was 19km long running from Northeast to Southwest. That can indicate what direction the earthquake energy might be headed as it continues on past that region.

As a result of that info I have figured out that Easter Island or French Polynesia might be one of the next big Oceania Earthquakes that strike out that way, and I do mean BIG!!! These are actual official measurements as you can read in the above referenced article and it is now my opinion that there is actually at a MINIMUM, movement in the 5 to 8 Centimeter Range taking place out in the Oceania Region and it is most unfortunately heading DIRECTLY FOR SANTIAGO, CHILE right now!!! Will this be the 2013 Mega-Thruster??? Santiago, Chile? Valparaiso, Chile? California? Somewhere in between????? There could still be 7.6 to 9.3 Richters of Major Earthquake Out There!!! 6.1 Strikes 30 Miles East Northeast of Luganville, Vanautu!!! Is Tropical Storm Dorian Coming?

There was a 6.1 that struck at Luganville, Vanautu during the night and it looks like just after 2am Central Time so just after Midnight Pacific 10 Miles East Northeast of Luganville with reports of strong shaking felt in that city. A search revealed Luganville to be the site of the SS President Coolidge which was a passenger ship originally built in 1931 and eventually converted to a Military Personal Ship which eventually sank one day as it was entering the harbor there at Luganville! There were also several small swarms that took place during the night including: 1.8 Hawthorne, 1.1 Hawthorne, 1.5 Fallon, 1.8 Fallon, 1.5 Anza, 1.1 Anza, California. As I passed these while reading all this early today those looked like they might be something, but now looking at them I might only say that there seems to be ever so slight movement that will need much more to become an issue in that region.

Finally we are now watching as Tropical Storm Dorian makes its way across the Atlantic and is approaching our East Coast with next week as the target. Reports have said it looks like a Hurricane that might strike the East Coast, but at least one report also said there might not be anything left of it by next week so we will pretty much have to wait and see as I spend the final days putting the finishing touches on my latest book that I know you will love titled Bringing Earthquakes To Life! 4.3 North of California City!!! Is California Going To Shake??? Keep Watching Mandalay and Banda Aceh!!! 9.3???

I really do not like to begin now saying that California might be inline for the possible "Mega-Thruster" sized Major Earthquake on the other side of the Pacific, but there was just a 4.3 that struck 30 miles Northwest of Beautiful Downtown Mojave and California City, California. Felt reports on this big medium sized California Earthquake were 20 from Bakersfield, 19 from Tehachapi, 2 from Carson 90746, and one each from Carson 90741, Diamond Bar, El Monte, Wrightwood, Los Angeles, and many others. There seems to be an unsettled discrepancy between the China Seismology Outfit that is giving the recent China Earthquake as a 6.6 and the USGS who is maintaining it at a 5.9 and in all events they seem to agree that the major aftershock WAS a 5.6 striking just over an hour after the first one. The problem that I now have trying to efficiently track the remaining Major Earthquake Energy around the globe is that if it was a 6.6 then there may not be quite so much energy left to track you understand. However at 5.9 that could have been only a foreshock for a HUGE Earthquake that has yet to shake so we should continue to watch Mandalay, Banda Aceh, Taiwan, Guam, New Zealand and all the other Pacific Islands for what might shake next. It could be the 9.3 Mega-Thruster that we are watching for!!! Hopefully California was just an indication that there is major tectonic plate movement. . . but they could also be inline for something big, too! Thank-You for Reading!!! EQ Guy

Add Lima, Peru, Pacific Islands, and our West Coast, and Be Watching for the "Grand Finale"!!!!!

Big earthquakes such as those that struck at New Zealand hours before the full moon and the now great Xinjiang, China Earthquake that struck during the July Full Moon Window were both big earthquakes and the July Full Moon was fairly destructive and deadly, but it is possible we will now need to move on and continue watching for quite a lot more Major Earthquake Energy yet to be released.

I want to now say that this is probably the time to start adding those more distant places to the list of all the places we have been watching and pretty much all of them have had some shaking along the way, too! You may recall LIMA, PERU was one of the more distant places I said we would be talking about down the road, and we are now down that road talking about Lima, Peru. Of course islands out in the Pacific, but since Wellington, New Zealand got a 6.5 in all that, we don't really need to discuss too much more about the Pacific Islands besides to say keep watching out that way and add Hawaii, now.

Finally, it is time we start thinking about what all of this new major movement of the Pacific Tectonic Plate could possibly do for California and our West Coast. This is not the El Reno or Moore, Oklahoma Tornado anymore. . . we are now talking about a typhoon with 130 miles per hour winds that crossed Taiwan and has so far caused a 6.5 at Wellington, and a 6.6 near Sichuan, China and while we are talking about the fact that it could continue on causing big earthquakes keep our West Coast in mind and we will talk more about this later.

I'm going to guess the "Grand Finale" has yet to come!!! I was right before when in 2011 the "Grand Finale" was that big Japan Earthquake and while I'm sorry to be using the term "Grand Finale" because it is supposed to be the final act in a circus, there probably is a "Grand Finale" still out there! Huge 6.6 Major China Earthquake Kills 94 with Nearly 500 Missing!!! Keep Watching!!!

75 People now confirmed dead and 459 missing as a result of the big 6.6 Richters Major Earthquake that struck China with the July Full Moon high overhead! Although I do not know why the USGS posting of this Major Earthquake says 5.9 Richters. . . that is quite a ways off from all the news reports that have it listed as a 6.6 and I checked around everywhere and all the news such as L.A. Times @ http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-china-earthquake-20130723,0,1693719.story AND The Mercury News @ http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_23706841/6-6-quake-northwest-china-kills-at-least AND a long list of others all ran banner headlines of 6.6 Striking China. So, anyways the search results produced a dozen news sources with basically the same banner headline of 6.6, including Newsday and China Daily with one I see listing the death toll at 94!!! I will update if I come up with any leads as to why there is such a wide discrepancy. I scrolled all down through ALL the latest earthquakes and that 5.9 was the only notable one posted for that region back all through seven days, so that confirms the USGS side of the story and I do not recall having got an original so huge with a correction anywhere along the way either.

Finally while that now supposedly larger than ever expected Major China Earthquake did already happen under the July 2013 Full Moon we will now need to look beyond that for the continued movement of that shaky Indio/Australian Tectonic Plate for that probably still upcoming Major Mega-Thruster around Mandalay and Sumatra. IF that one was it, and there is an update coming on the magnitude, then of course it will reduce the chance of it but until then we will need to keep watching and our West Coast is out there in the distance along the shaky, shaky, shaky Pacific Tectonic Plate!!!!!
