In the moments while I was in front of the TV watching the "Holiday Bowl" taking place out in San Diego, this one pops up on the screen right in front of me! 4.6 Richters Haiti and I couldn't focus on the map fast enough to see exactly where this epicenter was, and how close to the big one it might be. Well, without checking it looks very near that other big epicenter from 2010 and that earthquake just coincidentally was also a "Severe Winter" Resultant as I call earthquakes that seem to follow a lot of snow and cold around the North American Tectonic Plate. Sure not quite the same as December 2003 or December 2009 both preceded Major Shakers, but still with a lot of tornadoes too, that could become serious for Haiti, and maybe this is a foreshock!? New Madrid 1811-1812 was also December, January, February Earthquakes, too! Now this one 106 Miles Northwest of Port-au-Prince, Haiti and they might need to watch for more and into 2016, too!!!
There was a 4.8 Richters that struck Just North of Seattle, Washington at Victoria, Canada, with huge felt report!!! Somehow, some way I promise I will someday get that "Path on the Ground" for the tornado in Texas said to have been on the ground for 13 Miles!!! Judging by this here pic I'd say it may be at least somewhat urgent that we locate that information at some point! Along with many other potential problems going on with earthquakes around California area now struck near San Bernardino at Devore, the little town at the bottom of the slope that takes I-15 up to Barstow!!! Well, a major problem there is that we're also watching a very sensitive nearby location since it's one of the best known "Gaps" or Chronological Gaps along the San Andreas Fault! This is a however long section of that fault possibly extending much of the distance between San Bernardino and Palm Springs or thereabouts AND this section is quite far OVERDUE for a Major Earthquake!!!!! Seeing Devore get so many earthquakes like they did on late Tuesday at best serves as a reminder that segment of the San Andreas Fault WILL SHAKE eventually!!! If I do not go any further into that discussion beyond now, then do recall to especially watch that region. NOW Here's the fairly long and all inclusive Felt Report from the big one!!! PREVIOUS HEADLINE, Just Cut at Press Time: 4.3 Richters Strikes 15 Miles North of Oklahoma City, Near Edmond, Oklahoma!!! Huge Felt Report, Too!!!
That felt report includes many reports from Tulsa, and Wichita and 300 from Oklahoma City!!! Additionally there went on to also be a lot more earthquakes at Oklahoma, but since there always seems to be a lot of earthquakes in Oklahoma anymore, I won't bother giving that list nor going on too much into the fact that there have been about ten there as I'm writing this because ten isn't even that many for one day there anymore!!! Although one additional note might be in order for Oklahoma, and that is the fact that there could, just could be more coming and possibly something BIG!!! You never know about Oklahoma they may be due for the big one there! That and read on! Landfalling tornadoes could also be a factor in Oklahoma and might have even already been a factor in the 4.3 on Monday! Or it could be the foreshock for something big in say Richmond, Virginia, WDC, or New Jersey/New York!!!
Have yet to find any "Path on the Ground" of all the tornadoes in Texas!? Not something they are used to publishing, I can understand, but for those of you who have read any of my books, you may already know that it is very important information along with what we already know that there was a lot of damage. The two when combined give us the direction the storm traveled and the line we need to follow to find the location where a potentially big earthquake may strike at any moment! That moment is nearing and I can only hope the straight line is not pointing directly to somewhere like Los Angeles, or San Francisco where it could just could. . . end up being too late to get that information to CEPEC/NEPEC!!!
Speaking of Los Angeles, heard somewhere that the BIGGEST SHIP IN THE WORLD has anchored in the Los Angeles Harbor and could be staying for a while! There have been some of these such events that might qualify as "Weight on the Tectonic Plate" and I just want to say it will very often also become the EPICENTER for such an earthquake so as of this notice be sure to also be watching Long Beach, Carson, San Pedro, and the Catalina Island Region for up to 7 or 8 Richters. . . at least as long as that BIG SHIP is parked there!
Although there does seem to be quite a lot shaking especially around California and Nevada, I myself have a lot going on over the next several days including New Years Eve and New Years Day and am working both days, too! All of this shaking going on tells me that there is quite a lot of potential for a Major Earthquake to strike at some of the more unusual locations such as the fact that USGS originally posted the Eureka Earthquake by the name of a place called "Westhaven-Moonstone, California" although that name quickly went away and was replaced by Eureka! Now here is the felt report from that, but following that is a long list of more earthquakes yet these at a place called "Denio Junction" and about a hundred miles southeast of the usual North of Reno Epicenter that much more commonly gets these, could be more unusual, yet when considering the 3.6 Grand Canyon Earthquake, too!!! More shaking along the lines of the more unusual locations, this Earthquake Shaking in the middle of the Pacific Tectonic Plate where I didn't think there was any fault lines at all is unusual at best!!! Here's the write-up about Guadalupe Island about a hundred miles northeast of the 4.9 Richters Offshore Mexico Earthquake and it mentions this being an "Extinct" Fault Line there, too! @ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guadalupe_Island
Of course we'll have to take one more look at that question about California falling into the ocean, and You can look this up on the internet yourself and I can tell you from looking that it appears pretty much all those answers seem to say NO!!! However all of them pretty much refer to action of the San Andreas Fault and I'm more looking at the Baja California Peninsula, Vancouver Island, and Puget Sound all forming offshore features of sorts. . . and looking like they all will eventually become either islands in the ocean such as Catalina Island, OR simply get pushed out into the ocean and SINK like a few places around the world already have! One of those just so happens to be up there around Washington where trees can be found under a bay up there somewhere and there are a few other places including at least one where a small city can be found underwater! Yes, at least parts of California will most likely become the victim of similar such plate movement and become either an island or an underwater feature for divers to dive down and explore someday!!! Before all of this California shaking started, there had been a 6.3 Richters Earthquake that struck 175 Miles From Kabul, Afghanistan Near Jarm, Afghanistan but as of press time doesn't look like too much damage nor injuries there although could have been worse there you know! Soooooo, there has also been 28 Earthquakes at the North of Reno Epicenter as of this writing and Zooming-Out to 7 days that becomes 117 Earthquakes there. . . as well as the usual amount of shaking at Oklahoma. Got to also add that there have been a number of Major Tornado Touchdowns especially at Texas and I'll need an extra day or two to do a full assessment of all the damage and wind speeds there to say for sure, but for now count on it upping all the alerts and also possibly becoming a straight-line headed to who-knows-where! One time it was Antiqua-Barbuda, and they SHOOK, too! So stay tuned!!!
As of this writing I'm watching California for BIG EARTHQUAKES!!! You might like to know the closest thing I can think of to match all of what's going on there is the New Madrid Earthquakes from the Early 1800's when they had a big giant blizzard on the East Coast followed by as many as THREE Magnitude 7 Earthquakes!!! So keep that in mind and watch/be prepared for something as serious as THREE Magnitude 7 Earthquakes and I'll try to write that all up into some sort of "Prediction" but for now that's what it is looking like!!! Sorry to have to be reporting this at Christmas Time, but watch California for a lot more shaking and hopefully it will not necessarily strike in the next day or two, because on my schedule I'm looking at early January. Looking like it might turn out being similar to the "Eureka 2010 Earthquake" and strike closer to January 9 and there will also be a New Moon around January 10 and California more recently has been shaking during the New Moon's you know!!! Not saying something can't shake during the full moon. Exact Moment of the December Full Moon will be, or WAS at 6am Central Time TODAY! 4am Pacific and those times aren't perfect, they might be an hour off due to converting from Universal Time to Standard Time, now, still used to Daylight Savings Time for some reason! Full Moon Window started on Thursday Morning, December 24 at around 6am Central, 4am Pacific and will run all the way to Saturday Morning so there could be earthquakes somewhere over Christmas, Sorry!
I have two really great Christmas Day related EARTHQUAKE Stories for you all today that I had planned to use on my "Earthquake Minute" Show until this new alert for Frisco came up all of the sudden and so these have been cut and appear here, now! So gather around the radio or whatever and for your listening pleasure today, FIRST, there was the landfall of Super Typhoon Nanmadol at Luzon on December 2, 2004. . . Followed by my now famous “Big EQ Alert” for as big as 9 Richters, THEN on Christmas Day, “Our Time” the 9.1 Richters GREAT Sumatra Earthquake And Tsunami struck at ABOUT 8pm Central Time Christmas Day, although on December 26 other side of the Date Line there. And next story on Christmas Day 1974 a CAT-3 Cyclone Destroyed Darwin Australiaaaa. . . And was followed on February 4, 1975 by the 7.3 Richters Great Haicheng, China Earthquake, Aaaaaaaand they had that city already evacuated due to having Predicted that earthquake, with KIND OF a lot of the same sort of methods that I use today!!!
Well, thought I'd leave those stories in. . . even after now all those BIG Earthquakes started shaking California, so we will now be watching vigilantly for 7 Richters to strike California!!! I know I missed the actual moment of that earthquake by about only a couple minutes due to having noticed the time stamp at the Facebook entry saying I posted there at 12:44 and the earthquake struck at :46 and also have since then discovered that time would have made this earthquake late Tuesday Pacific Time instead of the times I'd been giving as "Very Early Wednesday Morning" when actually it looks like it was still Tuesday in Reno and California, yet! Wasn't exactly sure when all of this excitement with HUGE Snowfalls actually began? It is a matter since the upcoming full moon could be more of a factor if all the big snowfall amounts started more than a week ago, but pretty good just for saying it like yesterday and having Reno get hit already right away last night! Also need to watch Reno and that region of Nevada now, too, due to them being potential epicenter for 6 or 7 Richters Earthquake, too! Additionally because the Exact Moment of Full Moon will be on Dec 25 at around 6am Central Time. Full Moon Window starts on the morning of Thursday, December 24 at around 6am Central, 4am Pacific and will run all the way to Saturday Morning. WATCH For More Shaking!!!
What all this means now is tectonic plates pushing across California and meeting up around the Hayward Fault and San Andreas Fault along with San Francisco Bay Region! Just estimated this magnitude could be 6 to 7 Richters and will have a date for you by time "Earthquake Minute" hits the airwaves on Friday! Possibly looking at duplicate of Year 2010 when Eureka had 7.5 Richters on January 9!!! Hopefully NOT a duplicate of Paso Robles Earthquake. . . that one hit on December 23!!! The year was 2003 and that was lots of snow, too! I suppose I should say that a few days after the Eureka 2010 Earthquake on the final day of that alert, January 12, 2010 the Haiti Earthquake struck there!!! EQ Guy

Updating you on those snowfall amounts that I've been busy looking into and heard somewhere 80 Inches of snow at a place called Mount Baker!? Can't hardly believe it calculates to SIX FEET!!! That much snow, can that be possible in the Sierras? Well, if it is and the TV just so happens to be showing EVEN MORE Snow falling right this moment as I'm writing! (Sugar Bowl 58" Heavenly 38") This could or I might say WILL turn into a new alert for California! Maybe as big as a 6.5 Richters Earthquake for San Francisco, Eureka, or Parkfield just to name a few places that could shake into January with all this snow bringing on quite a lot of tectonic plate movement!
Lots of shaking also around Indonesia so I went to my sheet to see what this was all about and it looks like there is still at least one active alert for that region. I have a line on one sheet that says Sumatra and it's the result of the landfall of Cyclone Meg at Socotra Island on November 8 and it looks like December 22 will be Day 44 so there could be more coming yet with the full moon Friday, too! And landfall of Typhoon Melor was a few days ago so we might watch Laos and then all that much more for Lima, Peru down the road! Checked those snowfall amounts now prior to this blog going to press and here they are, although I really think it looks sort of a lot more like a "Ski Report" due to being Mammoth Lakes 30 to 54 Inches, and Mountain High 10 to 18 Inches of snow and coincidentally both major ski resorts although up there in the mountains and it appears they are fairly accurate amounts of snow faithfully representing the Sierras! Not quite enough to add a significant EQ Alert for any areas of California, although keep watching because there has also been somewhat of a combination of things and of course earthquakes can still happen at any time you know! At first glance I didn't know what to think about a 6.6 Mexico Earthquake. Knew there were at least a couple earthquakes floating around the Pacific, but did not know right off about anything headed for that part of Mexico although there had been landfall of a Hurricane Sandra nearby not too long ago. Checked that landfall to find it was considerably north of this earthquake. . . but this here epicenter was also far enough south that it occurred to me to check on one other alert that was for Costa Rica, and Nicaragua that you might remember me mentioning quite a lot! So here's the abbreviated felt report from 6.6 Mexico with all them other countries also reporting it:

That alert this one is probably a part of would be from Tropical Cyclone Chapala at Yemen and Day 45 on that alert was yesterday! So I wrote it right onto the sheet at the same time as I was there checking it and have NOW accredited this one to that landfall. . . if you can believe Yemen was so near that Triple Plate Junction (TPJ) and apparently acted exactly as predicted:) Since that does at least appear to be so, then we definitely will need to keep watching Lima, Peru because then there are now officially now TWO big alerts heading for them, but I'll go into that plenty as the days begin to count on the second of those two alerts what just made landfall at Manila on Tuesday.
All of this will now no doubt become a part of this weeks "Earthquake Minute" so please feel free to tune in same time, same place!!! Then, time permitting we'll have all the information you need about all the latest earthquakes!!! EQ Guy

Normally I might give the distance and what direction from the epicenter to the city, but in this case let's just say it struck Malibu! If you take a close look at the actual USGS page regarding this earthquake then you might notice it says 1 mile southwest of Malibu. . . but Malibu actually being 27 miles long from one end to the other, and so you might then have to ask where exactly is this 1 mile measured from? One mile from beautiful downtown Malibu? There really IS no beautiful downtown there! Malibu is pretty much ALL Beautiful Downtown just saying! So, here's that felt report and amazingly felt in Orange County, too! Check it out:

Has been a disturbance involving Manila at that landfalling typhoon there and death toll has now gone up to 11 with lots of flooding and am sorry to see fairly close to direct hit on that populated region there! Quick reading of the globe to see how close this landfall might bring next Major Earthquekes revealed a far away place called Laos, and then again those Andaman and Nicobar Islands just north of Banda Aceh. Only moments after I figured all this out earthquake at a place called "Bamboo Flats" and tells me since it is just to the north of those islands, that Indonesia and especially Sumatra and Banda Aceh might be next in line for shaking! Bamboo Flats is just another of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands regions whether it's actually one of those islands not sure, but right in there possibly even just to the north like my straight line showed!

While that alert for all the shaking between Illinois/Indiana and Quebec/Iceland has been running out, time to also now say the full length of the alert should continue to Day 60 on December 24, and Day 76 into January just a bit, due to having only most recently detected some major activity continuing where nothing else could have been to blame and so this time we're talking about Illinois and Indiana or Iceland Volcano so we will definately need to keep watching!!! Although remember all the shaking like 25 small earthquakes at New Madrid and the TWO 4.7 Richter Earthquakes at Oklahoma.
Finally, as a result of that major landfall of Typhoon Melor at Philippines, it now looks like yet another straight line this time across the Pacific to Lima, Peru!!! As if we haven't already spent enough time here talking about that one possibly striking and this just in a 4.4 Richters Earthquake struck 300 miles South of Lima late on Tuesday so be watching there and now possibly for an extended period but this might increase the seriousness of the alert there, too, stay tuned!!!
