7.8 Richters Has Struck Between Banda Aceh, And Jakarta, Indonesia Early Today Our Time!!! Watch For More Shaking There!!!

Looks like this BIG 7.8 Richters Indonesia Earthquake was felt in Banda Aceh, Singapore, and Jakarta!!! Here's the list as it was published at USGS as of 9am Pacific Time Wednesday. Naturally these are pretty much probably just our own folks who are located out in those regions and consult our USGS for the info. . . and then report and here are all those reports, Now Updated:

This huge earthquake was felt everywhere out there although as far as I can see no tsunami currently connected to this Major Earthquake. Also there can always be aftershocks and there could be more to come there!

This one I decided to post here because of the exact time that it struck as you can see here would have been exactly 8:38pm my time and I also just so happened to have had 8:38 written on my hand like I do anytime there's movement of the ground wherever I'm at!!! Can't honestly say this would have been IT, though. . . more likely a truck going down the road nearby at the same time as this one:

I have a small sheet in front of me that says "Quito, Ecuador" and must now say we MUST remember the 7.8 Indonesia Earthquake might NOT have been what I call the grand finale!!! Still need to watch Columbia, and Quito Ecuador due to them being the other side of the Pacific Tectonic Plate and that side will move YET!!! Also this Indonesia Earthquake is only the START of the movement of that tectonic plate and we'll need to keep watching down the road beginning immediately for some other places around that tectonic plate to be getting a whole lot of this shaking!!! The Pacific Islands Are Shaking, Shaking, Shaking!!! Very Serious Watch Out There In The Pacific!!!

Those Islands Keep Shaking!!! Here's the big list from the last 24 hours and it looks like it could be any moment now that the big one. . . I mean REALLY Big One, shakes out there in those islands!!! Serious Watch for a Major Earthquake out there around Vanuatu, PNG, Indonesia!!! Here's the latest:

Now the very serious part that I mentioned in todays banner headline!!! See the number of days after the landfall of big Cyclone Winston is now going on Day 10 or actually IS on Day 10 today! And a quick check of a couple others from that region were the big landfall of Cyclone Yasi on February 3, 2011 followed by the big Christchurch Earthquake of February 22, 2011 or about Day 19 afterwards. Also last year the landfall of Cyclone Pam at Vanuatu on March 15. . . followed by the big PNG (Papua New Guinea) Earthquake/Tsunami on March 29 or like Day 14! Therefore you might have already figured out that we're looking at a whole lot of the same sized Major Earthquake Energy coming at us literally right now and possibly some of those same areas there!

The biggest alert as far as I'm concerned is for Vanuatu and they are on the list several times! There was also just a 4.6 North Atlantic Earthquake up there where there is absolutely nothing else even in that vacinity, nor are we really watching too much for any earthquakes. Just an unusual amount of shaking sort of offshore from Nassau, Bahamas, and Miami but north of Turks and Caicos and actually very near the "Tropic of Cancer" if that tells you anything! There has also been a 1.6 - 2km SW of Culver City, California, at 5:27pm Central Time, 1 Mile Southwest of Culver City, 2 Miles West of Baldwin Hills, 2 Miles Northeast of Marina del Rey, and 4 Miles South of Century City, California and looks like very near Channel 11, and the Sony Studios there!!! Although I don't expect too much more to shake California we should continue to watch there and Vanuatu is where all the action will probably be! New "Earthquake Minute" will be out the minute any of those islands get anything like a 7 or 8 Richters Major Earthquake which should be about any moment now. . . and possibly a tsunami, too!!! Santa Barbara Has Kept On Shaking!!! What Could Happen There? "Earthquake Minute" This Week???

I might have thought it would have just been those few small Santa Barbara Earthquakes that struck yesterday. . . and that we'd be well on our way to talking about something else today! As I scrolled the list of earthquakes early on Thursday Morning in preparation for re-posting yesterdays EQ Blog as a lot of you know I like to do and I suppose a lot of you view in the morning, too, sometimes! So, I scrolled all through those earthquakes and just went ahead and posted as usual. . .then as I was touring Milwaukee it occurred to me that there had been one additional Santa Barbara Earthquake that I did not go on and look into! As soon as I got home from the latest Sylvester Stallone movie "Creed" I immedietly checked and found that there had actually been a whole list of earthquakes there and when added with the previous ones to make viewing easier it is now 8 or 9 Earthquakes there! Here's the list including now February 24, and 25 and possibly a warning to watch there for more! I'll have to check to see if this is the tsunami prone fault line region there, too, because remember we HAD been watching for a Major Earthquake and Santa Barbara/Tsunami was one of the locations that I mentioned originally!!! And I can post more about that new Stallone movie later. . . right now here's that list as of early Friday:

There was actually eight on this list, but one of them somehow picked up the name Carpenteria and just didn't look quite as good on that list although it may have only missed sharing the same epicenter with those others by a fraction of a mile or so. Now take a look at by far the biggest felt report from just those shakers on Thursday!!! Pretty impressive the fact that these earthquakes are being felt in Mexico all the way from Santa Barbara,too! Topanga is even reaching!!! Here's the list from the 2.7 near the top of the above list:

3 Small Earthquakes Shake Santa Barbara!!! 1927 Book Predicted Major San Francisco Earthquake This Week!!!

Sure. . .I spent quite a bit of time looking into the fact that there is apparently a book by a dude by the name of "W.D. Gann" who went into a discussion about an earthquake supposedly striking like San Francisco, L.A., or Hoover Dam although I do not have his exact words there. The dates that a reader posted in the comment section a day or so ago are February 23, and 24, 2016 and it appears this might have been all part of a book written like a hundred years ago and that date. . . just so happening to have been THIS WEEK! Even though unless he had another reason it must have just been chosen randomly to in effect guess at the dates such an earthquake event might strike! Having been doing this for quite some time I see no other possible line of reasoning for that date and am even wondering if he had any clue that for the most part it fell inside one of my own personal "Full Moon Windows"

That said, take a look at the three small Santa Barbara Earthquakes that DID strike with a date that is an exact match for W.D. Gann's "Prediction"

There is also some stuff with Tornadoes happening right this moment and in fact going on into Thursday, too, so if too much significant/important stuff should happen I'll have an update there, but as of this writing although it may seem major, the damage I've seen so far from Mississippi to Virginia anyways has been severe but no real serious "Miles on the Ground" type of tornadoes where we'd need to track that new Major Earthquake Energy! 4.9 Richters Bakersfield Earthquake!!! Keep Watching Vanuatu And All Around Pacific/Indio/Australian Tectonic Plates!!!

Todays EQ Blog will begin with this fairly big 4.9 Richters Earthquake at Bakersfield!!! Or about 23 Miles Northwest of Bakersfield to be more exact and near Wasco! Small farming town just outside Bakersfield where the railroad runs through. . . or did last time I knew and methinks Amtrak goes through there, too! Good News For Vanuatu Is That Big Tropical Cyclone Winston MISSED Them!!! Bad News Is The Earthquake Danger From That Landfall At Fiji Could Be MAJOR!!!

Bad news for Vanuatu is that the landfall of Cyclone Winston at Fiji could mean the Big Giant Earthquake that will follow. . . COULD hit them!!! Watch Vanuatu beginning now!!! I will have plenty more about all that later, for right now just be aware that they're calling Cyclone Winston the biggest windstorm ever in history and until much more details come in surrounding that landfall suffice it to say it's also going to be the biggest MAJOR EARTHQUAKE to follow! As earthquakes go, though. . . it shouldn't be a whole lot different or bigger than the biggest ones we've had in recent years and decades. So for the time being lets just watch for a big earthquake and hopefully not another Sumatra 2004 or anything like that! Updates could make that more of a reality, though, and there is also the factor of just a lot of built-up earthquake energy having been a factor in some of those other big earthquakes! Hopefully we won't run into anything like that today. . . hopefully not at Vanuatu for now at least!

As far as the February Full Moon Window is concerned, it looks like it might have been at least somewhat responsible for all of this here shaking at California just to the north of San Bernardino that I'm about to go into next! Anyways the Full Moon Window will run through Tuesday, but might always have some left-over pull into Wednesday, too, you know! I suppose I should add to that vid and to the fact that we've been watching California and I'm now leaning towards it being the end with all of that shaking at Barstow, so I will add that one more report has came in from Jersey City! Looks like little or no snow there, either and we may now be talking about Mondays shaking during that Full Moon now having been all of it!!! February Full Moon Window Is NOW!!! BIG Cyclone Winston Made Landfall at Fiji on Saturday!!! Is East Coast Snow All Melting?

Exact Moment of the February Full Moon will be around Noon Central Time on Monday!!! Or exactly 1:21pm Central Time on Monday or around 11:21am Monday Pacific although I did a great deal of work changing all those times to our local times so that may not be an exact calculation. In any event I am expecting this "Full Moon Window" to give us some Major Shaking so be watching!!! And Read On. . . to find out exactly WHERE we'll need to be watching!!!

More calculating, but long story short. . . at Landfall in Fiji, Tropical Cyclone Winston must have had top wind speeds of at least 195 mph!!! Have since seen 202 mph reported!!! Now I was currently looking at the latest as of the time it had already passed the island so I suppose it's possible it had some even higher wind speeds at the landfall and just found a story that might be to that affect and will check it out right now! Until I have a complete report on this subject, be aware that this huge landfall will now contribute to a whole lot of MAJOR SHAKING already going on especially in California, but many other places around the Pacific as well. Sort of looking at Indonesia nearby but I'll update the info for Central and or South America more in the coming days! Of course the full moon makes it probable we'll see some shaking action right away today or tomorrow, too! Let me upload the pic of the path right here and then explain it following the pic:

WHAT You're going to see with this here pic is that the path looks to have been more or less DUE WEST!!! I should also point out that is Vanuatu at the far western path. . . although Cyclone Winston is expected to turn before it nears those islands and then head more or less south away from pretty much all land and population as far as I know. Any additional landfalls I will certainly have updates on!

ALL of this here could be in some way related to that landfall, but I should mention that there also seems like there might have been a correlation with the 4.3 Barstow Earthquake on Saturday due to it looking very much like the landfall occurred before that earthquake! Let us now check out that Felt Report from the 4.3 Barstow Lucerne Valley Earthquake that take my word for it. . . shook ALL of Southern California on Saturday!!! This story goes into the fact that he thinks there could now be an earthquake out along that coast! And he even says it should be like ONE (1) whole Richter BIGGER than the (he says) 4.8 Earthquakes. . . although one of them was originally posted as a 5.3 so would that make his hypothesis for a 5.9 and mine for a 6.3? ADD one to the already big list of East Coast Shakers today, because a place called Bloomingdale, New Jersey, looks like it's just to the north of "Meadowlands," just got an ever so tiny shaker, but it still counts towards East Coast Shakers! Just doesn't really count towards BIG East Coast Shakers if you're paying attention:

Said I would try to have something in todays EQ Blog about MORE Volcanoes that I know of in California perhaps not all of them considered "Active" like those I discussed yesterday. So the first one that I found and also found out that the word I was looking for was Dormant. . . because these here are "Extinct" and very much LESS dangerous!!! Eagle Lake Volcano has been extinct now for over 10,000 years!!! At 5,420 feet, Eagle Lake is at the junction of the Sierra Nevada, and the Cascades. It contains 15 small cinder cones and next Silver Lake Volcano at just over 5000 feet and also now extinct for over 10,000 years! Saved my favorite for last! That would be one particular volcano that I personally visited while staying in the Death Valley Area of California and Great Camping there, too! Hot!!! Volcano name is Ubehebe, or Ubehebe Craters as the region is listed. Here's a Great Pic with some people actually standing almost exactly right about where I viewed it from or I suppose the closest view from the parking lot:

GOT some Great Pics myself and actually stepped right down inside of it a little ways, too! Not everyday you walk into a Volcano, but had to try it that one time! They're even actually saying it COULD go off again some day. . . soon!!!

At first I was actually thinking about skipping this weeks "Earthquake Minute" and just telling the D.J. to skip-it for this week because of all the work I've been doing on other editions of that show, thought maybe just maybe take a week OFF!!!
