The Exact Moment of the New Moon will come today at 3:07pm in the afternoon Central Time, and that would then be 1:07pm Pacific Time on Thursday. So far not a lot of big time shaking, exactly. . . but here's Exactly where we're watching although this 5.0 can hardly be considered a sign of anything big time happening there, you know:
5.0 150km W of Lambasa, Fiji 2018-02-14 08:57am CST
And not even really unusual for Santa Barbara to get a 2.3 although this one was VERY CLOSE to that city and we do happen to be watching there, too, with just 16 felt reports we'll just leave it at that:
2.3 - 2km SW of Santa Barbara, CA
2018-02-14 14:58:59 UTC 34.408°N 119.714°W 9.9 km depth
Nearby Places:
1.2 Miles SW of Santa Barbara, CA
5.0 Miles WSW of Montecito, CA
6.8 Miles ESE of Goleta, CA
8.7 Miles East of Isla Vista, CA
11.2 Miles West of Carpinteria, CA
LET'S see if Gulf of Alaska shakes more during the New Moon!!!

3.2 253km ESE of Kodiak, Alaska 2018-02-14 16:43

Here's a great story about how an Anchorwoman covered the Great Alaska Earthquake of March 1964!!! Check Out That Alaska Earthquake Anchorwoman Story@ https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/chance-anchorwoman-great-alaska-earthquake/
This one struck late Wednesday Night near San Bernardino albeit somewhat bigger at originally 3.5 downgraded to a 3.3 so naturally more people reported that to USGS, and here's that felt report@ http://eqalert.blogspot.com/2018/02/35-richters-earthquake-struck-near-san.html
So there are a few places that might get the shaking yet as the exact moment of New Moon approaches and will pass early Thursday Afternoon and the New Moon Window will run into Friday Afternoon! There are many things that could happen and watch Tonga and Fiji Region especially with the Magnitude of this now looking at hopefully not more than the 7.8 which struck Ecuador following a similar landfall of Cyclone Winston at Fiji. Still be expecting a big earthquake and maybe big enough to cause a tsunami and hopefully not too big of one of those, either!!! Be Watching, though!!!
