4.3 Richters Strikes 112 Miles East of Havana, Cuba!!! Felt In Florida Keys!!!!! WATCH That Region For Up To 7 Richters Very Soon,Too!!! UPDATE: 4.0 Richters San Francisco!!!

UPDATE: There has just been a 4.0 Richters Earthquake at 8:49am Central Time, with the epicenter being about 5 miles East of Downtown San Francisco and very near Berkeley and 3 miles from Oakland! As you can imagine this felt report is going to be huge and already Mountain View, Redwood City, Pescadaro, Santa Cruz, Napa, and Bodega Bay have reported!!! NOW Todays Previously Written EQ Blog:

Anytime there is as much Major Earthquake Energy heading in any special direction such as the Caribbean that we are now currently watching ever so closely, the chance will increase dramatically of something shaking if it just so happens that a Major type of event also comes to coincide with the already heightened chance! Well, of course the filling of reservoirs is one, but that World Series Game was a great example, too! Today I'm talking about all the hubub around Havana, Cuba and all that earthquake energy already headed directly for the Caribbean as you've all heard by now in my EQ Blog and on "Earthquake Minute"!!! All that earthquake energy IS headed for the Caribbean, but if there is a lot going on in Cuba. . . better be watching THERE for earthquakes, too! Although it may seem like kind of a long-shot they'd get too big of earthquake, Jamaica is in that region, too and could also be liable to shake!

So, a 4.3 Richters Earthquake struck just offshore from Havana, Cuba at 7:47am Havana Time and here is the felt report from that:

It is most unfortunate that we will probably need to now watch the Havana Region very closely for some or all of the 7 Richters that is currently headed for the Caribbean and our East Coast! Looks like August 18 is going to be Day 31 and August 20 will be Day 33 so expect to see a lot of action especially around Caribbean where they are already seeing a lot of action!

This one surprised me because Anza is always getting some kind of earthquakes but usually not this big!!! On Saturday they had a 2.5 or it looks like that might have been Friday, and I did not post a Saturday EQ Blog?

Yes, there does happen to be quite a lot of earthquake stuff currently going on and that August New Moon is starting right now, and exact moment will be right around Noon on the West Coast, 9:55am Central Time, so we will probably need to watch all the way through Friday and well into Saturday just in case one of these major shakers we're watching for is a factor in the August New Moon!!!

Just as I was about to list the one or two earthquakes that had struck around Japan in the hours before I wrote this out, now the one on the top of this list struck!!! As you can see the time there is 23:43 and 24:00 would be Midnight, so that one struck just a few minutes before I began to write this and as I went back to that list to see. . . there was that bright red dot there actually more towards Hokkaido, Japan, but still covering Japan and that was when I decided to just cut and paste this whole following list of all the shakers there in the previous 24 hours to this posting:

6.4 Solomon Islands Along With 6.6 There On August 9, Could Both Be In The Wake Of Landfall of Typhoon Soudelor at Taiwan!!! UPDATE: 4.0 North of Reno Epicenter!!! New Moon Window Starts!

UPDATE: At 4:31am Pacific Time there was a 4.0 at that shaky 50 or 100 Miles North of Reno Epicenter with so far one felt report and update in tomorrows EQ Blog. Also, August New Moon Window will begin at 11:55am Pacific Time on August 13 with Exact Moment at 11:55am August 14, Keep Watching!!! NOW Todays previously written EQ Blog:

Had to double-check about where that straight line of potential Major Earthquake Energy would have been running in the wake of the landfall of Typhoon Soudelor now going on a week ago on August 7, 2015 and does look like both Wednesdays 6.4 and also a 6.6 on August 9th were very much in the wake of that landfall. This is quite a lot of earthquake energy on display and actually happening along a line that we definately already know for sure is going to be responsible for some major shaking, so 6.4 and 6.6 showing up along it now tells me we will need to watch especially Santiago, Chile next along that line and then Russia and it is probable BOTH of those could get Major Shaking that I have already previously listed at about 7.9 Richters! You may combine 6.4 and 6.6 to come out at about whatever magnitude they could possibly equal in the event that the same movement at either of those other spots happens to take place in ONE Major Earthquake Event. . . but I'm putting it at about a 7.9 Richters Earthquake!

For whatever reason Oklahoma is starting to show up as a possible player in the current Earthquake Shaking with a total of 48 for the week when I expanded the following list from the lasts 24 hours. Here is the 24 hours list and I even just now went and expanded that one a few miles because I noticed one to the left of the others and it added the third one down at Fort Stockton, Texas which in fact does look a little bit important there on the list, now, too!!!

Never mind that Texas is not actually even Oklahoma. . . just caught that one as I was about to move on and talk about a 2.4 Richters Earthquake that struck San Jacinto, California also on Wednesday and noticed Texas, but the fact that I believe the conversation was originally about Oklahoma therefore I ask to be excused for incorporating it looks like two Texas Earthquakes into that above list concerning the fact that "Oklahoma" is shaking! Guess you might have to say Oklahoma AND Texas are shaking. Anyways when I went back and now double-checked that list for the week which I said came to 48. . . it also looks like about a dozen of THOSE were also listed as Kansas, too!

Some of the other places that it looks like also might be in the wake of Typhoon Soudelor there include Tuvalu, American Samoa, Niue, Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands and of course French Polynesia. All of these leading directly to that extremely shaky Santiago, Chile Region and are reminiscent of the big earthquake there in 2010 on February 27, just after Tropical Cyclone Oli hit French Polynesia on February 4, 2010 with 135 mph winds!!! @ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclone_Oli COULD Be about time for Santiago to Shake like that again!!! 4.4 Richters Uzbekistan, Line Crosses Very Near There, Too!!! NOW Also Watch Tajikistan, Russia, Persian Gulf Region!!!

Just went and re-checked the globe for places that are situated up there to the far north beyond where the recent landfall of Typhoon Soudelor struck and at the same time located this 4.4 Uzbekistan Earthquake late on Monday our time:

Keep watching there because this new upcoming release of some Major Earthquake Energy could go into the 8 Richters Range!!!

This next now upcoming Major Earthquake could strike up there around the more Remote areas of Russia!!! Could be something like a 7.9 Richters up there in that region, too!!! Alert will run well into September!

3.6 Richters Strikes One Mile South Southeast of Kathmandu!!! ALSO: 4.2 Struck Just North of Kathmandu at Nepal, Too!!! KEEP WATCHING Hayward and Cascadia Fault Lines, Too!!!

Here are the listings on the two Kathmandu Earthquakes that I just noticed listed as I was writing todays EQ Blog:

So, I went and checked to see which alert was currently covering Kathmandu, because it now looks like they might be getting some shaking there and that would be the straight-line from the landfall of Hurricane Blanca now running at about Day 60 and still with some time left, but those are some serious enough earthquakes there especially when you look at the 3.6 being practically a direct hit at the center of that city! We are surely going to be hearing more about that one, and here's hoping that's the end of all the shaking there, too! Small amounts of earthquake energy in the region due to Typhoon Soudelor, but hopefully not going to shake Kathmandu anymore!!!

Probably a lot of folks on the East Coast watching anxiously for that Major Earthquake/Tsunami that just might strike out in that region in the coming days also seem to be checking out the felt report from the 2.2 Annapolis, Maryland Earthquake from late Saturday now updated as of Monday Night at Earthquake Central@ http://eqalert.blogspot.com/2015/08/22-richters-strikes-8-miles-northwest.html

Occurred to me during the day on Monday that the location where Typhoon Soudelor made landfall at Taiwan just so happens to also be situated on the Pacific Tectonic Plate so that my followers who are more and more understanding the potential dangers involved with the movement of the tectonic plates will probably want to know or might already know there could now be some danger involved with that landfall. . . and New Zealand situated right there at the tectonic plate boundary with the line between Pacific and Australian Tectonic Plates running directly IN BETWEEN the north and south islands of New Zealand!!! We must now watch New Zealand!

And of course continue to now watch that shaky, shaky Hayward Fault around the East Side of San Francisco Bay because we do know for a fact that it WILL SHAKE someday and there is a lot going on up that way right this moment so I suppose the new additional movement of the Pacific could become a factor in Hayward, and the Cascadia Fault to the north is also due to SHAKE!!! Time To Start Watching The Hayward And Cascadia Faults as 3.3 Richters Shakes San Francisco and 6.9 Solomon Islands!!! MUCH MORE To Come!!!!!

Hello, as I'm writing this late Sunday Night there is quite a lot happening right this moment as I am throwing together a Monday Morning EQ Blog! Just enough that there was the following San Francisco Earthquake that showed up from earlier Sunday Afternoon, but in the moments before I post this, wouldn't you know a 6.9 Richters would strike Solomon Islands! Nevertheless here is that 3.3 Richters that struck Offshore 9 Miles West of San Francisco Golden Gate!!! Wouldn't you also probably know that I have at least one already written out note telling me to write in todays EQ Blog that such a MAJOR SHAKING of the Pacific Tectonic Plate as we can now virtually count on as the result of the weekends horrendous landfall of Typhoon Soudelor!!! First at Taiwan and next at China and all together going to create probably the biggest earthquake to date at least for 2015 and looks like it promises to be bigger and do more damage than Kathmandu 2015, too!!!!! So, anyways all the notes I was referring to say "Hayward Fault" and are a reference to the fact that the Hayward Fault in the San Francisco Region East Bay could be one of the places we should be watching!!! You might recall the Hayward Fault has done some serious shaking recently and with all that is going on I was going to just suggest today to watch there. . . and yes that was before this 3.3 Richters Earthquake that you might now even want to call a game changer! Watch that Hayward Fault and there's been a lot of talk about the Cascadia Fault to the north of there, too!

Typhoon Soudelor Landfall At Taiwan With 125 Miles Per Hour Winds!!! WATCH Santiago, Chile for 7.5 Richters!!! UPDATE: 2.2 Richters Annapolis, Maryland!!!

UPDATE: At around 10pm Saturday Eastern Time there was a 2.2 Richters Earthquake that struck 8 Miles Northwest of Annapolis, Maryland with fairly big felt report from that region!!! I also wanted to fit into the headline that China might be first in line for some Major Shaking being right near that landfall and very much along that straight line of potential Major Earthquake Energy! Typhoon Soudelor is so far responsible for 4 Feet of rain in mountains, 2 Million customers without power! That's the latest of the CAT-3 Typhoon we are now watching as it makes landfall right now at Taiwan!!! Typhoon Soudelor actually is looking kind of like it might have made a last minute turn towards the north because I do know for sure it was headed directly for the middle of the Island of Taiwan the last time I checked! Now the very latest is that it clearly did not make the middle of that island so much as it more like struck the Northern Quarter of the island or about a quarter of the way down from the very northern tip rather than at the middle. Looking like tons of damage, too, judging by just the couple pages of photos so far coming in due to it right now being Sunrise and a lot being photographed as the deadline for this EQ Blog approaches.

5.8 And 5.5 Strikes Rwanda, And Democratic Republic of The Congo!!! Probably Means Tectonic Plate Movement!!! What Next??? UPDATE: Typhoon Soudelor Landfall at Taiwan!!!

Had to go back all through a lot of old EQ Blog entries to try and figure out why there has been two major earthquakes out there in the middle of Africa like there were just these two a couple hours before writing this blog. Was quite a lot of work on this project. . . but I believe I have it figured out! First take a look at the felt report from the larger of the two earthquakes that appear to have epicenters within about a mile of each other and the smaller felt report is one from Kivu, and one from Kigali. Here's the felt report at press time from the 5.8:

So, it appears this must be the job of landfall of Typhoon Chan-Hom at Shanghai, China on July 10, 2015 where we have also been doing a lot of discussion on Mt. Vesuvius because it could explain the earthquake energy being in the vicinity of the East African Rift and would still indicate something Major could shake around that region of Italy where that big volcano is located!

Did try to somehow blame this shaking on the fact that the Huge Typhoon Soudelor is ever so quickly increasing it's seriousness as it nears Taiwan and also did just so happen to make a smaller landfall at Saipan Island out there in the Pacific earlier in the week. That's a long ways away for a windstorm to strike such a tiny island and travel all the way to Central Africa so quickly!!! Therefore not likely to have much to do with this shaking just now, although it is POSSIBLE that had something to do with it! 5.5 and 5.8 would be about right, but I'd need to have some idea Saipan is geographically located with respect to Rwanda? Kind of a longshot and landfall of Chan-Hom is on about Day 30 which will be August 9, 2015 so it just looks like the culprit behind all the shaking in Africa! Also means Italy or some other country along that straight line which crosses just to the north of this Rwanda Epicenter might be looking at a sure thing as far as Major Earthquakes are concerned!!!

Coming up on Friday is that Major Landfall at Taiwan of Typhoon Soudelor and it is GUARANTEED to be a game changer as far as the Major Earthquake Forecast is concerned!!! Be Watching!!! EQ Guy

Typhoon Soudelor About To Strike 13,000 Foot Mountains at Taiwan!!! HUGE Earthquake Energy Coming Thereafter!!! THEN, Soudelor Heads To China!!!

Highest mountain peak in that Taiwan Region where Super Typhoon Soudelor (Pronounced SOW-de-lore) is about to make landfall. . . or rather I have heard it's now Typhoon Soudelor downgraded somewhat, highest peak around 13,000 feet will be far too tall to not be disturbed by these enormous hundreds of mile per hour winds and surely leading to Earthquake Disaster on top of the humanitarian disaster already before us in the form of this huge windstorm there! The very latest news on Typhoon Soudelor today is the fact that it is now heading for the center of Taiwan and they're also concerned for the fact that it's going to strike China immediately afterwards. I've also noticed that it now appears there will be at least one critical turn involved in the landfall at China which could result in two entirely different but new sources of Major Earthquake Energy especially where China is already looking at some shaking from Typhoon Nangka at Japan with 100 mph winds. Very soon we will be adding Soudelor with 185 mph winds to that!!!

Looks like this one was originally a 6.3 although I did not see those numbers anywhere myself, that came from one of the reports that I located in some quick research prior to this writing and also found no apparent damage or injuries.

Finally it looks like the highest all-time Heat-Humidity temperature or combination therein was recently reached in Iran where it came to something like 165 Degrees!!! Also want to report that I'm finding low humidity pretty much everywhere in the world, now!!! Notably Singapore where Wikipedia said it should always be by far the highest humidity of anywhere in the world. . . and found it currently at just 70 Percent as I'm writing this!!! AND like all the others I'm quite sure it is going down, and fast!!! EQ Guy

CAT-5 Super Typhoon Soudelor To Make Landfall at Taiwan on Friday With Wind 115 and Gusts of 145 Mph!!!

The forecast has even changed just some what since I looked at this Typhoon hours ago, too! Previously it had been headed for the north end of Taiwan. . . but without having checked any more beyond just the basic drawing on the front page of the weather service I use, it looks to now be heading directly for the middle of Taiwan!!! Not sure what affect this could have on the population there, and I will report immediately upon checking, but I can tell you it is a game changer as far as those enormous winds now aiming dead-on at the center of the island! No escaping the fact that it will turn all of this huge wind into huge Earthquake Energy albeit with a ton of real bad damage and injury to life there at Taiwan!!! Landfall is probably beginning as I am writing hopefully along with evacuations and other preparations to insure safety of all the people out there due to be affected by these enormous winds!

In addition to the three small earthquakes that follow, there were also a number of them around Idyllwild, California and there should be something going on there, but mostly now due to the large amount of all the new potential earthquake energy circling and about to be circling the Pacific! 4.4 Richters Italy Again!!! Now Looks Like Something Could Shake That Country!!! Mt. Vesuvius!? AND: What's With The LOW Humidity, Now!?

Although I can't be sure if it means the coming moments or days, but check out the list of the latest eartthquakes just within a few miles of each other and on August 2, and August 3. . .not too many miles apart and perhaps a hundred miles or so South of Mt. Vesuvius which we are actively watching as the days since landfall of Typhoon Chan-Hom at Shang-Hai, China near Day 25 and something should very well be happening maybe even in that shaky Mt. Vesuvius Neighborhood. In addition to the two that follow, I noticed about twenty-five other earthquakes in the last seven days in that wider region which includes Greece and one other Northern Italy Earthquake somewhere in that time frame, too:

I mentioned MONTSERRAT on Fridays Earthquake Minute, but want to now clarify that. Looks like Montserrat erupted in July 1995: "The Soufrière Hills Volcano, and buried the island's capital, Plymouth, in more than 39 feet of mud." Great story, but not the island that I wanted to tell my story about! The island that I wanted to tell the story about was MARTINEQUE. The town was destroyed on May 8, 1902, Over 30,000 people were killed in 1902 when Mount Pelée erupted. This was famous for being one of those eruptions of poisonous gas, although I am not currently finding that in the facts surrounding this event. A prisoner who was probably in a well built concrete jail cell survived! Although they're only a few miles apart out there in the Windward Islands of the Caribbean, Martineque and the town of Saint Pierre was the Island I intended to mention. Both of these are right now this moment in the direct line of the Earthquake Energy from Nanka-Japan on July 16. The line continues on directly through Brazil where I'm not sure if they get too many earthquakes, and on to Buenos Aires, and Montvideo, Uraguay where that area COULD get some Major Shaking in the coming days!

Finally today I am now noticing that our Humidity does not seem to be right these days!!! I will have more about this in the coming days but for now it seems to be hovering around the 30% Range when this time of Summer SHOULD be hovering around the 90% Range!!!!! The relative humidity typically ranges from 49% (comfortable) to 94% (very humid) over the course of a typical July, rarely dropping below 35% (comfortable) and reaching as high as 100% (very humid), BUT. . .I haven't seen anything in the 90 Percent Range in about as long as I can remember like a year or more! Could become a very serious problem and not sure if anybody else has noticed, and I see Omaha, St. Louis, New Orleans, Nashville, St. Paul, and many other places are having greatly reduced humidity, too!!! "The air is most humid around July 30, rising above 91% (very humid) three days out of four." that according to a weather service. . . but is now looking like very quickly becoming part of the past and probably victim of Global Warming because NO DAYS anywhere near 90% Humidity!!! Even starting to fall below 50 Percent and staying around there! Appears to be continually dropping, too! Do you remember what humidity used to be like? EQ Guy

Looking Like San Francisco is Getting Some Earthquakes!!! Small Ones. . . But They ARE Shaking!!!

In addition to a lot of other earthquake stuff that's been going on over the past few days, just now noticed San Francisco is getting quite a lot of earthquakes in their region!!! Normally when I scan that region it might even be completely empty with NO earthquakes happening there at all, not so right at the moment. There was a 4.4 Very Near Mt. Vesuvius in Italy but not exactly close enough to do any damage there and no felt reports so far as of this writing but it did strike very much along that direct line from a recent landfall near Shanghai. That 2.2 New Hampshire Earthquake might be considered "Garden Variety" if not for the fact that we are presently watching that region very closely and those small earthquakes are starting to show up quite regularly. . . when they generally do not show up there at all! There is an upcoming landfall at Hawaii of what today looks like a big Tropical Storm but I'm fairly sure it is a hurricane and landfall at Hawaii could be some trouble at least for the folks there! Big News Is Major Volcano Eruption at Papua New Guinea!!! Only Moments From Exact Moment of That July Full Moon-Blue Moon!!!

It will be the end of the July Full Moon-Blue Moon Window as you read this. . . but there may still be one or two Major Alerts that we will need to continue watching for!!! Puerto Rico=144 Earthquakes in 7 days. Whether this is just a little bit unusual. . . or highly unusual, I'm just saying that is the region we are watching and that HUGE Earthquakes and Volcanoes have been known to happen in that Caribbean Region! I suppose I should be real honest and say the article that follows here about that eruption at PNG, does say the eruption seems to have an exact moment that can very easily be matched up with the exact moment of the Full Moon. . . but I was not able to accurately calculate 1pm local time on Friday over in PNG to Central or Pacific time it just sounded like it would almost have to come out very close! Correction from yesterdays EQ Blog has to do with the fact that I'm not sure exactly whereabouts along the Coast of Queensland, Australia the earthquake epicenter of that 5.7 was situated in comparison to exactly where all of their big windstorms make landfall. A look at Queensland on Wikipedia revealed that it is quite a long, long coast line as a commenter told me on Friday in a comment: "I live where the earthquake struck in Australia yesterday, it struck the Sunshine Coast just north of Brisbane. We have never had a tropical cyclone, they strike up in North Queensland, which would be like Los Angeles to Seattle in distance. And the earthquake was rare because we don't sit on the tectonic plate at all. However it is the second earthquake we have had this year over a 5 pointer." LOOKS like there was just yet another 5.2 there about a half-hour before I had completed this EQ Blog! More on that region later like this week!

They are also getting a lot of earthquakes around Alaska and they keep shaking and shaking! That is also a region that I expected to be affected by that landfall at Japan of Typhoon Nangka on July 16 and will still need a few days before major earthquake/tsunami strikes East Coast. . . for now here are all the latest out there in those Alaska Islands there are from just Friday:

Lot of earthquakes so keep watching for Major East Coast Earthquake up to 7 Richters and maybe a tsunami big enough to really do some damage along our East Coast which is eventually supposed to happen some day but not sure if it makes it more likely during this alert just a good time to start thinking about preparation and do they have those "Tsunami Alerts" yet?
