A few miles west of Flagstaff as the list of nearby places says, this 2.7 Richters Earthquake does not yet have any felt report, although that could be a ways out in the desert if you know what I mean! Possibly near the tiny tourist towns of Oatman, 80 miles west, and maybe Bullhead City, too, 90 miles west! Here's the USGS Report:

Hollywood’s Gooding Family To Hold Memorial Service For Patriarch, Cuba Gooding Sr. at Apollo Theater in Harlem
April 27, 2017
New York, New York – Cuba Gooding Sr., the late R&B soul singer who sang lead vocals for the legendary “Main Ingredient” for 45 years, will be memorialized in grand fashion, as the singer returns to Harlem.
The Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 29 at 4:00 p.m. at the Apollo Theater, 235 W. 125th St. in Harlem, New York. Doors open at 3:00 p.m. Cuba Sr. passed April 20th in southern California.
Oscar winning actor and son, Cuba Gooding Jr., along with actor and son Omar Gooding, will join their other siblings, April Gooding and Thomas Ware Gooding, to celebrate the life and music of their father. Shirley Gooding, Cuba Sr.’s wife, is ecstatic to bring her husband home to Harlem, where it all began.
“Cuba would be so happy to know that he has come home to the world famous Apollo, one last time,” said Shirley Gooding, who also is a native New Yorker. “Cuba has performed many times here with ‘The Main Ingredient.’ The people of Harlem just love him, and there will be more love poured out for him this Saturday from people around the nation and world.”
Cuba Sr. was born just a few blocks from the Apollo, and as a kid in the mid-1950s, performed on the famed Amateur Night at the Apollo. Young Cuba sang “Who Can I Turn to,” and received a standing ovation from the sometimes tough Apollo audience. Cuba won that night.
Cuba Gooding Sr., as lead vocalist of the Grammy nominated “Main Ingredient” since 1972, lifted the group to world prominence with such hit songs as “Everybody Plays The Fool,” “Just Don’t Want to be Lonely,” “Rolling Down a Mountainside,” “Happiness is Just Around the Bend,” “You’ve Got To Take It (If You Want It).” Other “Main Ingredient” chart-toppers were “You’ve Been My Inspiration,” “Spinning Around (I Must Be Falling in Love), “I’m So Proud” among many others.
At the request of Shirley Gooding and family, all flowers should be sent directly to the Apollo Theater, 253 W. 125th St., New York, New York 10027. All cards of condolence should be mailed to Sobul, Primes & Schenkel, 12100 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 1150, Los Angeles, CA 90025. Attention: Robert.

Filed a New "EQ Alert" With The Earthquake Prediction Councils!!! Mammoth Lakes, California Getting Some Shaking!!! An Earthquake Struck Between Ensenada, and Tijuana!!!!!
As the days were getting closer and closer to the big ones, which now having written attached letter, I can say are around May 3 to May 7, felt the need to quickly write and submit to CEPEC/NEPEC or the California Earthquake Prediction Evaluation Council and National Earthquake Prediction Evaluation Council. Big 7.1 Valparaiso, Chile Earthquake Downgraded To 6.9 and Watch Now With April New Moon Window Starting Immediately For More There. . . PLUS a Possible "Grand Finale" Too!!!
Originally this was a 7.1 Richters, enough said. Probably going to be much more shaking with the April New Moon Window starting Very Early Tuesday Morning!!! Untold amounts of things already shaking and including Valparaiso, Chile and Lone Pine/Big Pine, California, too!!! The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Earthquake that I discussed in yesterdays EQ Blog had at least one felt report at the time from South Carolina. Today I want to add the name of the town was Lane, South Carolina and a close check revealed Lane, South Carolina to be about exactly 42 Miles North of the EPICENTER of the historic Charleston Earthquake that struck there on August 31, 1886 at around a 7 Magnitude! Doesn't really exactly mean all that much, except for the fact that as I said yesterday, we're trying to figure out if these are FORE SHOCKS, or not.

Somethings Up With This 2.3 Richters Earthquake Near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Felt Widely Many Miles From The Epicenter!!! COULD This Be a Foreshock There!!!
Not the biggest news story ever in the universe. . . but lots of felt reports to go along with this smallish 2.3 Earthquake that struck Sunday near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania!!! 1251 Felt Reports, though!!! So, I have to now add due to having just updated that felt report that updates seem to keep coming in for this one and up to this point AS FAR AWAY as South Carolina!!!!! Coincidence? We are watching around Charleston and our "East Coast" for among other things a resultant along the lines of the "Grand Finale" but what I'm now trying to figure out is if felt all up and down the East Coast is a CLUE. . . that it could be a "Foreshock"? All in all one of the things we've now long been watching for, and trying to figure out, is which ones are foreshocks to a BIG UPCOMING ONE!!! Because we KNOW that after a Major Earthquake strikes that we can then go back and SAY "Those were foreshocks". . . but the great difficulty with all of this is being able, or hopefully someday being able, to identify smaller ones that WILL BECOME foreshocks after a big one strikes! So, is Sundays 2.3 Harrisburg, Pennsylvania a possible foreshock for the next big Charleston Earthquake? Next Big Washington, DC Earthquake? Next Big Boston or New York Earthquake? Illinois? Oklahoma? West Coast/California? We'll just have to keep watching for things to shake and keep trying or for now "Guessing" what ones are foreshocks as we continue to watch and wait for that upcoming "Grand Finale"!!! At least not for so far south, there, although keep in mind the last Major one in that "Chain" struck just across the Atlantic at Botswana, so one might think this could be the South American Tectonic Plate being NUDGED over to the West and therefore maybe we should continue to watch much, much further to the north around Quito, Riobamba, and Lima where my imaginary line crosses!!! All in all one of the things we've now long been watching for, and trying to figure out, is which ones are foreshocks to a BIG UPCOMING ONE!!! Because we KNOW that after a Major Earthquake strikes that we can then go back and SAY "Those were foreshocks". . . but the great difficulty with all of this is being able, or hopefully someday being able, to identify smaller ones that WILL BECOME foreshocks after a big one strikes! So, is Sundays 2.3 Harrisburg, Pennsylvania a possible foreshock for the next big Charleston Earthquake? Next Big Washington, DC Earthquake? Next Big Boston or New York Earthquake? Illinois? Oklahoma? West Coast/California? We'll just have to keep watching for things to shake and keep trying or for now "Guessing" what ones are foreshocks as we continue to watch and wait for that upcoming "Grand Finale"!!! Got to add right now that this is a lot of shaking around Valpo, Chile. . . but NO current alert for that region! At least not for so far south, there, although keep in mind the last Major one in that "Chain" struck just across the Atlantic at Botswana, so one might think this could be the South American Tectonic Plate being NUDGED over to the West and therefore maybe we should continue to watch much, much further to the north around Quito, Riobamba, and Lima where my imaginary line crosses!!! Lots of Shaking, BUT The Grand Finale Is Yet To Come!!! WILL It Strike Japan? Taiwan? Ensenada? California? Keep Watching, We'll Soon Find Out!!!
All of this happened BEFORE that banner headline and in fact came up on the list of latest earthquakes just after I wrote that headline!!! So, here's what is currently shaking around Japan. . . where they just MIGHT be looking at an upcoming Major Aftershock of that 2011 Big Honshu Earthquake & Tsunami that struck near Sendi, Japan!!!

There was also a 4.7 Richters Earthquake that struck about 100 miles to the Northeast of Lima, Peru where we should continue to watch for something much bigger. . . . . AND get used to hearing the fact that we'll now still continue watching for the GRAND FINALE!!! Yes, there will most certainly be the biggest of the big Major Earthquakes coming in about the next week or so! Possibly Japan, again, but Taiwan has been waiting for a big one, and Banda Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia is situated directly in line with all the action, although that tectonic plate isn't all that reliable when it comes to trying to figure out where it might shake next! Also Ensenada, and California could shake, too!!! So be watching!!! EQ Guy

6.0 Richters Earthquake Struck Peru Near Ecuador on Tuesday!!! There Was Also a 6.0 Near Fiji, Too! Are The Two 6 Richters Earthquakes Connected? Ensenada Next?

So, there seemed to have been NO Earthquakes at all anywhere near Coachella, California as far back as I was able to check as of late Monday Night!!! That's pretty much all the way back to about the same time last week and covers the whole week. . . along with all of the weekend!!! Kind of unusual having been following it for quite some time now, to see NO earthquakes anywhere near there!!! Nearest was one about 10 miles north of Indio just north of Palm Springs, but still quite a long ways from Coachella.
Originally I thought this might have been something to do with what was about to now happen in South America. . . but right now I can't actually say how the two would be connected:

Kind of unusual having been following it for quite some time now, to see NO earthquakes anywhere near there!!! Nearest was one about 10 miles north of Indio just north of Palm Springs, but still quite a long ways from Coachella.
Originally I thought this might have been something to do with what was about to now happen in South America. . . but right now I can't actually say how the two would be connected:

1.1 Richter Earthquake Struck North Hollywood!!! And a 5.6 Struck Caribbean Near Barbuda!!! COULD That Be All The Major Earthquake Energy Headed For Out East Coast?
Not sure how far this one was from the "Red Line" Subway that runs directly through this part of Hollywood, but as far as I know I didn't see anything that would indicate any problems there and this tiny 1.1 had a depth of 16 Kilometers so it might have been one of those that was only detected by instruments:

THIS one was the big banner headline until once again wouldn't you just know, "Event Canceled" don't ask me why or what happened to it, but here's what it DID look like earlier on Monday and most of you already know what an "Event Canceled" notice looks like so I'll skip that today, this one was canceled:

Probably the same thing with the Whittier Earthquake as far as it having also been detected with instruments the same as the above Hollywood Earthquake, but I didn't see anything published to replace it, so I can't be sure if it was actually even detected at all.
I had also gone ahead and calculated the exact time of the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake to see exactly WHEN another one might strike or how far along it translates to when compared to landfall of Cyclone Debbie on March 28 and came up with what I already knew. . . came out to Sunday!!! So you can basically just watch the above vid appropriately titled "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday" and it answers all those questions!!! And I can add Day 42 and 43 are Tuesday and Wednesday this week so keep watching especially around New Zealand!!! EQ Guy
