Here's the latest Major Earthquake to ring my phone at 2 in the morning!!! This time I was much more concerned for the result and at once went to the USGS to view it!!! Much more relieved to note it to have been in the range of about 200 miles to the farthest South reaches of the Island of New Zealand there!!! So when the day came on Tuesday I went all through the info and located the town of "Invercargill" and must say there was quite a lot of people reported the earthquake from that city!!! The following is the USGS Report where it says 25 reports for that city, BUT that is the number of reports that came in to our network. . . their network as usual keeps a much more extensive list of all THEIR OWN reports and was last I noted in the thousands!!! Due to recent changes in their system, though, I am not currently able to transcribe all that, so here's our own list of the reports that people sent to USGS here in the States:

Once the lead story here before the 6.6, here's the Angels Crest Highway Earthquake Near Wrightwood and Rangers Station Up that Way, Too!!! Although I had to go and double-check the location of the town listed. . . while pretty much knowing it was that Chevron Station where the two highways turn off from The Pearblossom Highway up that way and was right! Although epicenter was actually in between Pinon Hills and Table Mountain where there's a campground up on Angles Crest where I once stayed, too!!! And store at Wrightwood had Hot Salisbury Steak dinners at the deli like no other!!!

The Auckland Islands Earthquake brought up some interesting research into those islands there about 200 miles south of the south Island of New Zealand or south of New Zealand basically. Mainly infamous for being along a once major shipping route, they became much more famous for all the shipwrecks there!!! An interesting story states that the countries of New Zealand and Australia stocked all the islands in that chain with "Castaway Depots" with tons of supplies for anybody left on any of those islands by shipwreck and remarkably MANY have been wrecked and came across them depots!!!
