EQ Alert: East Coast Aftershocks!!!
Every single point at which the extreme winds contact so much as shallow waters along the path of a hurricane such as Irene there is a certain amount of new earthquake energy generated. Irene will be making such contacts numerous times in its journey through the Bahamas and has already made contact beginning a few days ago with Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. While all of these would have probably been the energy felt in Washington, D.C. today, it should be noted that all of these other upcoming landfalls could also generate additional earthquake energy that could also strike up around the same exact region, or Richmond, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and New York, New York. Ultimately there may well be a major landfall with winds over a hundred miles per hour and that landfall WILL GENERATE a Major Earthquake as big as 7 or 8 Richters, although that big shaker will probably not strike our East Coast. West Coast, maybe. . . East Coast????? EQ Alert Guy
