7.0 Near Anchorage, With a 5.7 Aftershock That Struck Within About 2 Miles of Downtown Anchorage!!! Now Updated With Fridays 7.0 Anchorage "Earthquake Minute"!!!!!
UPDATE: So far no deaths reported but lots, and lots of damage there!!! Other then lots of damage, not much else to report at this point and here's final update of this "Extra EQ Blog" from Friday!!! Next updates will come in Mondays Edition of EQ Blog unless one before then becomes necessary. Aftershocks are way up there now beyond 50 and will continue to grow. . . as they hopefully get smaller and smaller in size, too!!! You're up to date as of 11pm Central Time Friday. 7.0 Richters Earthquake Struck Just a Few Miles From Anchorage!!! This just came in (Rang My Phone) as I was heading out the door for todays "Earthquake Minute" Show at local radio!!! So far appears to be as big as a 7 Magnitude with aftershocks including 5.8 just as I'm updating. Hopefully this will be the usual pattern and they'll continue to wane!!! Tsunami alerts may exist and I won't be able to update fast enough to help with that. I will have an update later in the day!!! Now todays blog, God Bless!!!

More Shaking at The Islands To The North of Colombia!!! More Shaking at Greece!!! Learned To Spell Something New, AND Found a Straight-Line of A Lot of Earthquakes in Greece, Too!!!
Well, I was all ready to put the finishing touches on todays edition when this one came in and since I pretty much had already wrote all this about the Columbia Islands Region, I'll just run the header from this Late Wednesday Shaker at the region I'm going to be discussing later. . .
4.5 - 40km S of Mountain, Colombia
2018-11-29 04:49:29 13.010°N 81.296°W 10.0 km depth
And that one has the time stamp of 4:49 or about 11 minutes before midnight Central Time and that location I can now give an apt description of and that is to the north of the actual "Mainland" of Colombia. . . which I also just noticed is actually spelled differently than "Columbia, South Carolina"!!! Don't know if everybody knew that or not, but the COUNTRY Colombia is spelled with an "O" as in Ombia, and the South Carolina town with the letter "U" as in Umbia. Then this island epicenter location we're talking about is a few miles east of Nicaragua or around 160-200 miles east of the mainland, there, as one of the other lists of nearby places shows later in this edition.
Top one on this list shook late Wednesday, and this entire list looked just a little unusual at Greece with four (One in Montenegro, Actually) of these forming a nice line to the east of our epicenter we've been watching. Five in a row on this list, here, too! THAT'S Plate Tectonics for you!!!

At the very top of that drawing you see the far southern tip of Cuba and note that it extends due east and west for quite some distance! Well, when I was looking at all those islands discussed today, I also noticed that long extention of coast is an exact fit with the land between Panama and Costa Rica with all the rest fitting nicely in on either side of where that had to have at one time met! And the bottom of the ocean visible in the "Satellite View" also shows where the water gets deeper and deeper as it pulled away many probably millions of years ago!!! And we may have to continue to watch that region for more shaking. . . especially since that one came in right as I was about to click "Publish" on todays edition!!!

5.5 Richters Just Struck Offshore Mexico With Puerto Vallarta on List of Nearby Places 220 Miles To The Northeast Or Epicenter Near Socorro Island!! As Alerts For That Region Continue. . .
This story now continues from yesterday with that island region being actually located more up around Nicaragua and just off to the east in the Caribbean. I see by doing some research that it was once even originally an English Region albeit now deep in Spanish Territory today!!! This region continues to shake right now at press time late Monday, but todays news is a 5.5 that just came in on the other side of Central America and Mexico more near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Here's that USGS Report with list of nearby places and just came in so a felt report could come along and I'll update in a later edition:
5.5 - 281km ENE of Socorro Island, Mexico

Then, I re-checked the globe earlier and these could very easily be connected to that, too, although we should probably expect more if so!!! And that goes for Greece, and Iran-Iraq, too!!!

6.3 Iran-Iraq Border Region, And a 6.0 With Lots of Aftershocks Offshore From Caribbean Columbia Region!!! AND a Big Blizzard Hitting Chicago!!!!! 800 Flights Canceled!!!
There was a rather big 6.3 Iran-Iraq Earthquake that rang my phone on Sunday with so far 500 injured, no deaths reported and the list of nearby places is the usual assortment of town names from up there in that region, although most of my regular readers won't know those towns, so here's the list of all the shakers that went along with it reading up and I see ALL of these happened in a matter of just a few hours and none even close to press time at least right at the moment, and a good sized felt report will appear later in this blog but not immediately following this due to Columbia also shaking, here's that list:

5.8 Richters Earthquake Struck Offshore From The SOUTH Island of New Zealand Saturday USA Time!!! Shaking Seems To Have At Least For Now STOPPED at Greece Epicenter!!!
Hope everybodys "Thanksgiving Holiday" is going great like mine. . . being spent at home with the family!!! THAT was when my phone rang with this, a 5.8 New Zealand Earthquake that then required me to race to the list of latest earthquakes at earliest convenience!!! Not too much to worry about, though, besides getting this extra edition of my EQ Blog out with all that info and the rest of the stuff that's been ready to go just the same!!! Borrowed the felt report from New Zealand and they had a total of 53 reported to them there, with none so far sent to our own USGS so no felt reports at all to USGS up to this point. Maybe if needed I'll update that, now here's all the info:

Exact Moment of November 2018 Full Moon Will Be Late Thursday Night!!! Full Moon Window Will Run Through Friday, Now, and Should Be Bright Overhead, Too!!! Also Here's Where I Re-Checked That Line Which Headed Directly To Western Turkey!!! NOW Add Greece, Too!!!
Went and checked the line, as promised, to see how close it was to Greece, where I had been saying to watch "Far Western Turkey" and practically knowing more or less for certain Turkey would get one!!! Now here's the result of that re-checking and you can just about see what I found for yourself, here:
I'll have more discussion on this fact in coming editions, but for right now it does appear all the shaking we've been getting at Greece could have been directly connected to that big alert for Turkey! And thankfully didn't hit any populated regions, too!!!
Other fact that I promised to get as soon as possible was the Day # for the Seattle/Vancouver Shaker Alert and it looks like around Day 52 currently as of November 22, 2018 and today also turns out to be full moon later on tonight!!! Therefore that alert will continue on just a few more days. . . and has been shaking, too, so let's keep watching there a while!!!

Other fact that I promised to get as soon as possible was the Day # for the Seattle/Vancouver Shaker Alert and it looks like around Day 52 currently as of November 22, 2018 and today also turns out to be full moon later on tonight!!! 4.1 Northern Idaho, and a 2.1 Near Seattle/Tacoma Urban Area COULD Mean More Big Time Shaking For That Region or Major Earthquake Yet To Come!!! And With Full Moon Window Starting Late Wednesday, Too!!!
Unless something more comes along soon, this will be todays top story. . . along with Full Moon Window which I'll discuss at the end of todays EQ Blog! Now Here's This Weeks New "Pacifica Wildfires Earthquake Minute" For November 20, 2018, The Transcript:
Hi, EQ Guy Here,Big 4.8 struck Northern Mexico and shook Southern California a good one on Monday on Day 66 of that alert, BUT the much larger alert for Mexico City and Oaxaca continues with Day 43 coming on November 22. . . And THAT is a much bigger alert and for Turkey, too!!! (CUT: Just a coincidence Turkey Day is coming, too!!!) THAT is still a big alert for a Major Earthquake, there!! There was also a rather big 4.1 just to the North west of Seattle/Tacoma on Monday and that alert continues through November, although the Vancouver Islands Region had already gotten most of that shaking we had been expecting. And finally a slight alert for our East Coast and just big enough to remind everybody there is still currently NO Tsunami Alert System for the Atlantic.

BIG 4.8 Richters Earthquake Struck Northern Mexico Region Very Near Southern California, Near Yuma, Arizona on Monday!!! And a 4.1 Struck Up Around Seattle/Tacoma Region Much Earlier on Monday!
THIS came in during the day and due to the size, didn't come to my phone so I just found it later in the evening on Monday Night!!! Yes, it would be the big 4.8 we've been awaiting for the Southern California/Northern Mexico Region!!! I'll check and get you the exact magnitude I'd been mentioning! My point here is that it looks like this one was about a thousand miles north of Norway, and this time although it gives "Svalbard and Jan Mayen" it looks more like it must mean Longyearbyen, Swalbard or very close to nowhere near "Jan Mayen" where many of those other ones have been striking. No, rather this is about as far NORTH as you can get, or as it says 85 Degrees North, where the North Pole is 90!!!

2.1 Richters Struck Offshore To The South of Solvang, California Near Santa Barbara on Monday! With Two Felt Reports Including One From Sylmar In The San Fernando Valley!!!

Atlantic Is Getting Some Earthquakes!!! All Indicates LOTS of Tectonic Plate Movement, Too!!! ALSO: 3.8 and a 3.7 and a LOT of Other Smaller Earthquakes at This Fridays Aguanga, California Epicenter!!!

Not sure what is going on in the Atlantic, but that's a lot of earthquakes and although there exists out there a "Mid-Atlantic Ridge". . . you don't see all this much movement too often and we are certainly seeing it right now!!! Not sure what is going on in the Atlantic, but that's a lot of earthquakes and although there exists out there a "Mid-Atlantic Ridge". . . you don't see all this much movement too often and we are certainly seeing it right now!!! I'm telling you there IS a lot of shaking yet to come, and all this movement out there in the Atlantic just might be further indication of just that!!! The Tectonic Plates continue to move!!!
