Farily good shaker struck Los Angeles Region over last night with my phone chiming around 2am CDT!!! Felt everywhere from Malibu to Mojave, to Poway and El Cajon!!! Lots of reports from everywhere in SoCal, See the responses @

This does not seem to me like a garden variety shaker especially while we are watching for 7 Richters to strike! However I am not qualified to state if this earthquake could be a foreshock for that major one or not so we will leave it at that. There IS a lot of earthquake energy out there with Typhoons Damrey, Saola, Haikui at China, and now Hurricane Ernestos landfall at Yucatan with another landfall of Ernesto due at Mexico soon.
Therefore, let's continue to watch L.A., and S.B. for 7 Richters and China for 8 Richters and also still watch between Lima, Peru and Santiago, Chile for something probably very big like in the 6.5 to 7.6 Richters range. And Always be prepared my Los Angeles and Southern California friends!!!!! EQ Alert Guy
