Big 5.3 Richters Earthquake Struck Just Offshore From Santa Barbara, California on Thursday!!! Final Update of That Felt Report Now at Over 12,500!!!

You'll recall in yesterdays EQ Blog I mostly discussed all the shaking up around Santa Ynez and Lompoc and to keep watching that region for more and possibly major shaking. . . well today I must report there was this really big you could call it a "Major Earthquake" that had the epicenter Offshore to the South of Santa Barbara and a few miles to the West of one of my old favorite beaches there at around Malibu where you have a great view of Anacapa Island!!! Felt Report states 39 Miles to Oxnard, so fairly similar distance to beaches of Malibu and a few miles further to L.A. County while it gives the distance to Los Angeles at 86 Miles supposing Santa Monica much closer there! Note that Anacapa island was just a mile or two from this epicenter of a 5.3 Richters Earthquake felt all over Southern California and all the way north of San Francisco, Oakland, and Sacramento!!! So now along with all the shaking at California, there's a fairly good drawing of exactly where all this earthquake energy is supposed to be heading!!! However note between that landfall at Tonga, and recent landfall of Cyclone Nora at North Australia. . . either of these COULD be pushing enough on that Pacific Tectonic Plate to affect California!!! AND could affect California MORE YET!!! Watch There along with Panama, Columbia, Italy, and Greece for more shaking!!!
