MONDAY'S Eclipse Will Also Be The Exact Moment of The August 2017 New Moon!!! Window Starts on Sunday at 1:32pm, Too!!! Earthquakes Continue Up There Around The Mount St. Helens Region!!! AND a 6.8 Struck Mid-Atlantic Late Thursday!!!

Eclipse is also the Exact Moment of the August 2017 New Moon and therefore that New Moon Window will actually start on Sunday at that same time: or Sunday August 20, 2017 at 1:32pm Sunday, with that Eclipse on Monday at 1:32pm Central Time. For purposes of the added pull of the New Moon and its effect on Earthquakes lets start watching on Sunday!!! Also looks like eclipse MIGHT be passing almost directly over Mt. St. Helens and so perhaps we'll need to be watching there for some real ACTION!!! On Monday!!!!!

As I continue now to watch around Mount St. Helens, thought I had better quick check the whole entire list there from like the last seven days to see the sum total of what's actually shaking there! Here's the best I could do for a list although I haven't edited this nor checked it for all the sequence of the dates and times as far as how many and on what date:

0.4 36km SSE of Morton, Washington 2017-08-17 09:04
0.5 37km NNE of Amboy, Washington 2017-08-16 08:45
0.2 38km NNE of Amboy, Washington 2017-08-16 05:33
0.1 37km NNE of Amboy, Washington 2017-08-16 03:46
1.1 35km S of Morton, Washington 2017-08-15 10:24
0.1 37km NNE of Amboy, Washington 2017-08-15 10:10
0.8 41km NE of Amboy, Washington 2017-08-15 09:54
0.2 38km NNE of Amboy, Washington 2017-08-14 12:01
0.4 27km S of Morton, Washington 2017-08-11 16:20
0.2 37km NNE of Amboy, Washington 2017-08-11 01:58
0.7 37km NNE of Amboy, Washington 2017-08-10 23:16
0.6 37km NNE of Amboy, Washington 2017-08-10 19:24
1.1 37km NNE of Amboy, Washington 2017-08-10 02:30
0.4 37km NNE of Amboy, Washington 2017-08-09 16:34

PROBABLY a Good Time for. . .New "Mount Saint Helens Pacifica Earthquake Minute" For This Week!!! Now at EQ Blog-3@ http://earthquakealert3.blogspot.com/2017/08/mount-saint-helens-pacifica-earthquake.html

Now for this other shaking going on at Mid-Atlantic!!! Started off the day on Thursday with a smaller 5.2 Ascension Island Earthquake and got me wondering what might be going on out there in the middle of the Atlantic? That was until around 10pm my time Thursday Night as I was preparing this Edition of EQ Blog. . . when my phone rang now with a 6.8 very near the epicenter of the 5.2 this morning. Looks like the magnitude might be changing on this one, too:

6.8 - North of Ascension Island
2017-08-18 02:59:22 UTC 1.103°S 13.656°W 10.0 km depth

Nearby Places:
472 Miles North of Georgetown, Saint Helena, Pop. 538

Might actually need to keep an eye on the Atlantic there throughout this weekends New Moon/Eclipse due to possiblility of tsunami alerts. And currently no tsunami warning system is known to exist on our East Coast.

Thought it just a little unusual for a series of small shakers such as these to strike San Simeon? This is near the 2003 Paso Robles Earthquake Epicenter for what it's worth:

2.2 17km NNE of San Simeon, California 2017-08-16 14:06
1.9 18km NW of San Simeon, California 2017-08-16 10:08
1.4 10km ENE of San Simeon, California 2017-08-16 00:12
1.6 9km ENE of San Simeon, California 2017-08-16 00:00:15

This one looked enough like it might be directly on the Hayward Fault Line that I decided to run the USGS with list of Nearby Places thinking maybe there could be something coming yet with that Hayward Fault Line we've been waiting for and isn't it supposed to eventually shake big time there:

2.4 - 8km NE of Milpitas, California
2017-08-16 17:48:34 UTC 37.477°N 121.828°W 7.2 km depth

Nearby Places:
5.6 Miles NE of Milpitas, California
7.5 Miles North of Alum Rock, California
9.9 Miles ESE of Fremont, California
9.9 Miles NNE of San Jose, California

Watch Mt. St. Helens throughout the New Moon Window beginning Sunday, because it seems fair to say they'll probably experience at least some shaking. Ditto for Mid-Atlantic although do not expect too much larger than those two that already shook there and hopefully no need to evacuate Ascension Island. Real problem is where I just seen there may be an issue with a "Gravity Anomaly" associated with the Eclipse!!! Fear that it is going to be crossing over NEW MADRID. . . and with a Gravitational Anomaly!!! MIGHT need to watch that shaky region, too!!! Looking forward to a busy weekend of preparing for that Eclipse on Monday!!! Weather NOT permitting, could have to drive to Indiana, Des Moines, Springfield, or St. Louis for my own personal viewing! Usually one of those towns or my own. . . will have those CLEAR SKYS we're all hoping for!!! Good Weekend, All!!! EQ Guy
