Currently 10 Degrees in Louisville, Kentucky!!! Was -8 in Toledo, -12 Indianapolis, -15 in Syracuse, And -15 in South Bend!!! To See What Affect Severe COLD Will Have On Earthquakes. . . Let's Be Watching!!!

Not to mention the coldest place yesterday was -45 degrees Embarras, Minnesota!!! Some other temperatures that are also going to possibly have some affect on movement of the North American Tectonic Plate in the not too distant future are -12 Quincy, Illinois, -28 Souix City, Iowa, -2 in Harrisburg, -31 in Watertown, New York, +3 in Lynchburg, Virginia, plus 10 in Portland, Maine, and 34 degrees in Charleston. . . all these are at best a little unusual. I'll complete todays discussion with a few more I have written out here: -32 Aberdeen, -15 Omaha, -27 Bismarck, and -9 in Chicago!!! Previously I've relied on all elements of Severe Winter Conditions, but today we'll be testing this out absent the usual 2 feet of snow all across the country such as was the minimum prior to Northridge, Eureka 2010, Paso Robles, and others, and high winds had also been thought to be a factor and were present for the most part, too! Worth it to see how the severe cold will affect earthquakes and so let us now especially watch California and our West Coast!!!

And this one was FAR offshore from Oregon/California, but actually even MUCH farther offshore than usual, they're usually just 200 or 300 miles west of these cities:

4.6 - North Pacific Ocean
2018-01-01 17:03:40 UTC 10.0 km depth

Nearby Places:
653.5 Miles WSW of Port Orford, Oregon
663.2 Miles West of Eureka, California
664.3 Miles West of Fortuna, California
666.1 Miles West of McKinleyville, California
761.4 Miles WSW of Salem, Oregon

This one came in on Monday:

1.7 - 16km NNE of Sierra Madre, CA
2018-01-01 21:18:33 UTC

Nearby Places:
9.9 Miles NNE of Sierra Madre, CA
9.9 Miles NE of Altadena, CA
10.6 Miles North of Monrovia, CA
11.2 Miles NNW of Bradbury, CA
11.2 Miles North of Arcadia, CA

Here's the felt report from the 4.5 French Harbor, Hondurus Earthquake there:

4.5 - 44km NE of French Harbor, Honduras
2018-01-01 09:40:08 UTC 16.682°N 86.194°W 13.0 km depth

City..........Region...Country............................#.....Km
José Santos Guardiola, Islas de la Bahía.....5...38 km
French Harbor, Islas de la Bahía, Honduras...2...44 km
Guanaja, Islas de la Bahía, Honduras.........3...45 km
Monte Placentero, Islas de la Bahía, Hon.,...2...48 km
Sandy Bay, Islas de la Bahía, Honduras.......2...57 km

And this one came in right as press time neared. . . although probably not exactly at press time:

4.6 - 9km S of La Paz Centro, Nicaragua
2018-01-02 09:40:29 UTC

Nearby Places:
6.0 Miles South of La Paz Centro, Nicaragua
6.0 Miles South of La Paz Centro, Nicaragua
7.9 Miles West of Nagarote, Nicaragua
18.4 Miles SE of León, Nicaragua
23.7 Miles WNW of Ciudad Sandino, Nicaragua

And it's cold here in Wisconsin, too!!! Thermometers have been as low as ZERO DEGREES as I'm driving past them and on Tuesday seemed to all say FIVE DEGREES! Although I did manage to get in an hour of cross-country skiing! Forecast is for it to keep right on being cold. . . and then the cold here is just going to move out EAST!!! Keep on watching for what affect that could have on the earthquake situation especially along our West Coast, because "Severe Winter Conditions" have a history of preceding Major Earthquakes!!!
