Here are those new numbers that I promised in the banner headline! Since that original Great Alaska Earthquake of 1964 was a 9.2 then I see no reason we shouldn't rate this prediction at around a 9.2, too!!! So, let me say mostly for that same Alaska Region where the 1964 one struck. . . and they've been shaking around there a lot lately, too!!! Although far Northern Alaska has been getting quite a lot of shaking, too, and could very well get some of this, too!!! The other thing I wanted to say today was since the original Northridge Earthquake was a 6.5 then let's think 6.5 now and also for the Northridge/Los Angeles Region!!! 9.2 Alaska, and 6.5 Northridge/L.A. and of course there's always a chance Frisco could get something, too, just for today I wanted to update those two numbers and I'll get some numbers on Northern California in the near future! For now all should seriously think "Earthquake Preparation"!!!!!

There was also an aftershock of the Northridge Earthquake on March 20, 1994 of a 5.3 that was inandofitself the cause of more great damage, and possibly most significant fact about it was that it now looks like it was about the number of days we usually expect to find shaking after such a serious event as the severe COLD we're presently looking at!!!!! If so, that might then equal the fact that March 20 as that aftershock hit, is now about Day 48 and well within that date range. . . or even more coincidentally the actual date that now appears in the banner headline of this latest "Official Prediction"!!!!! So we KNOW we are watching for one!!!

OFFICIAL PREDICTION FOR MAJOR EARTHQUAKE UP TO 9 TO STRIKE WEST COAST, CALIFORNIA, OR ALASKA BEFORE MARCH 20, 2019

Today I want to present several Major Earthquakes that had at best been preceded by some of the most severe winter conditions. Due to all of these situations, I wish to submit this “Official Prediction” saying there might be a similar Major Earthquake situation following all the severe winter conditions we are currently as of this writing experiencing.

Let me start with the list of earthquakes that I’ll try to cover in this paper: 1811-1812 New Madrid, 1964 Great Alaska, 1994 Northridge, Paso Robles Earthquake, Eureka 2010/Haiti Earthquake and several of the Parkfield Series of Earthquakes.

One day when I was doing my research on the series of Major Earthquakes that struck the New Madrid, Missouri Region in December of 1811, and January/February 1812, I came across a story that related the fact that rescue people were not able to get out of the East Coast to help there! This was due to the fact that they were at the same time shut-in there by a recent Severe Blizzard with all the usual sorts of major side-effects that go along with it.

When combined with the fact that I had started out this research only after discovering Severe Winter Conditions were guilty of likely preceding the Northridge Earthquake and probably having at least something to do with it. . . that is what I then began to refer to as “January Earthquakes“ and obviously included some December, February, and etc. Earthquakes, too.

While researching the Great 1964 Alaska Earthquake I immediately discovered a big giant picture on the front page of my local newspaper showing the downtown main street filled with stalled cars and all covered with a blanket of several feet of snow. I considered that to be all the evidence that I needed to say that was what preceded and was the likely cause of the 1964 Alaska Earthquake and assume it must have been a really big storm!!!

Both the 2003 Paso Robles and 2010 Eureka Earthquakes are ones that I had all written up in the days BEFORE those earthquakes and the Haiti Earthquake ever actually happened. With the latter having been preceded by an “Official Prediction” just like the one you’re reading right now!!! Finally the dates on three (3) of the Great Parkfield Series of Major Earthquakes speak for themselves and they are January 9, 1857, March 3, 1901, and March 10, 1922. Forget that they all just so happen to be about 20 years apart and with all due respect to that now really great discovery. . . today I want to assert the fact that these dates I have given are also dates that were preceded by severe winter conditions being a factor in movement of the tectonic plates there. While there are other Parkfield Earthquakes in this series with dates such as June and most probably preceded by typhoons and hurricanes making landfall somewhere, I want to at least note a few have been what I still sometimes call, “January Earthquakes” and today I more and more consider this accepted science that all these things combined produce earthquakes.

Therefore and with respect to the fact that we currently have upwards of 3 feet of snow and probably more than preceded the Northridge Earthquake and also the fact that Channel l3 out of Rockford, Illinois just showed the last record low temperature with the date of January 18, 1994 which must have been about the day I looked out the window in an effort to discover a possible cause of that Northridge Earthquake, therefore I‘m now expecting a big earthquake!!! Yes, the same conditions today will most assuredly now come to proceed the next Major Earthquakes for California, our West Coast or Alaska and a few other possible places that are out around the tectonic plate boundaries that will be affected such as possibly Jamaica, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Mexico, or Canada, although I wish to focus this Official Prediction on California and National for the purposes of CEPEC, and NEPEC. Could go as high as that 1964 Great Alaska Earthquake, too, or up to around a 9.2 on the Richter Scale.

1.6 Richter Struck 50 Miles West of Boston and Amazingly Got 6 Felt Reports Filed With USGS!!!!! Found The Last Severe COLD Spell Was 1994, and THAT Was When Northridge Struck!!! So Let Us Be Watching and New Official Prediction Coming Very Soon!!!!!

This has to be a new first!!! Yes, so far a grand total of EIGHT people filed reports that they actually felt this smallish 1.6 on the Richter Scale up there to the west of Boston!!! Even that close to Boston, still just a bit unusual for eight people to even feel this one. . . let alone file felt reports! Such as a 1.6 is normally reserved just for the most sensitive insturments to file the "Reports" on. Here's the USGS and followed by that amazing felt report which should not need updating due to can't imagine any more coming in several hours ago now, or around 5pm Central Time on Monday:

Now Here's The Felt Report From Yesterdays 4.2 Which Was Downgraded To a 3.9 and also a 4.0 That Struck Near Fairbanks Yesterday, Too!!! And a 3.6 Valdez, Alaska as LOTS of Shaking at Alaska!!!!!

Yes, the time on this one shows Thursday, but at sixteen minutes after midnight, and that would actually have been more like just after six Central Time, so here's that latter of the Anchorage Earthquakes from Wednesday with the big one having been at 4.5 that I run in yesterdays blog. So there goes it and watch for the chance a big one could yet strike Alaska or dare I say San Francisco/Los Angeles? Watch all those places! West Coast and all and Good-Weekend!!!

4.5 and 4.2 Richters Earthquakes Have Now Struck Anchorage, Alaska!!! Although 4.2 Was Downgraded To a 3.9 Later!!! All This Shaking Could Be The Shaking We're Watching For To Follow All The Major Snowfall Amounts, Too!!!

Got this update delivered directly to my E-Mail again by a great reader!!!!! Now the first of the Anchorage Region Earthquakes was originally a 4.2 but looks like it might have been downgraded although right now not sure where it is at because it might have been upgraded again!!! So, with that in mind here's the other one, at a 4.5 and no changes have been made to the magnitude, at least none that I'm aware of:

With the full moon now several days past, I'd like to remind all my readers that in the past I have correlated what I call "Severe Winter Conditions" with Major Earthquakes including Paso Robles, Eureka 2010, Northridge and 1964 Great Alaska, and there was a Craig, Alaska one in there somewhere, too. . . and just got upwards of 10 more inches of snow here at my Wisconsin location!!! Although they did say our total is 21 inches, they also said the "Normal" for this time of year or perhaps this day, was 31 inches. Can't hang around wondering if the biggest amounts that bring that average up to 31 weren't also years where Major Earthquakes could have became a reality. . . but just saying they will probably become a reality around here in the very near future!!! And all the shaking up around Anchorage could be a sign!!! We'll know that for sure if and when they get a much bigger one, there!!! I suppose they should be watching for about a ??? on the Richter Scale!!!

Lots and Lots More Snow Will Probably Now Mean Lots and Lots More Major Earthquakes!!! This Could Be For Alaska, California, West Coast, Mexico, Etc.!!!!! And The Full Moon Window Ended Just Minutes After The Biggest of Indonesia Earthquakes Yesterday!!!

You must know the latest about all the Winter Weather we are currently getting in at least my own region, although East Coast and some other regions, too!!! All this has been known to precede Major Earthquakes and for right now with additional falling tonight and through Wednesday and at least one more reportedly coming and some sub-zero temperatures, too EQUALS Major Earthquakes on the way, now!!! I'll have more about total amounts and all that in coming editions!!!

This looks like a new epicenter that seems to have started just after the full moon and dropped the one just to the north, although one or two Calpatria's do still appear at the start of this list reading up:

So I checked and the exact time was 5:17 UTC or the window ended just 6 minutes and 53 seconds after the last one here reading up!!! Incredible, too!!!:

Yes and the distance from this epicenter is even given at 489 Kilometers and that's 383 Miles out to that region just to the west, although it was never determined why they call it the peninsula region? I still say the "Peninsula" is further out there, more towards the islands, but??? So we'll be watching for Major Earthquakes again, now and that could be just the start!!! Remember the big 1964 Alaska Earthquake was preceeded by lots of snow, too!!!!!

5.8 Struck Near Anchorage, Alaska, although Appears To Have Been Downgraded to a 5.2 King Salmon, Alaska Earthquake With Anchorage and Homer In The Felt Report!!! Update on the Shaking at Salton Sea!!! JUST IN: 6.4 Richters With Series of Shakers at Indonesia!!!

Phone rang late on Monday Night with an earthquake!!! The message says 5.8 Earthquake Alaska Peninsula at 4:43 UTC, but this one says 5.2 King Salmon, Alaska at 4:43. . . so I guess it's been downgraded and King Salmon must be considered the "Alaska Peninsula"!!! If you look at the distance to Anchorage (276 Miles), THAT doesn't say "Peninsula". . .thinking the actual Alaska Peninsula is more like 2 or 3 thousand miles west of there!!! Here's that USGS Followed by the felt report at 21, although late on Monday might need to update later:

6.7 Richters Earthquake Struck Coquimbo, Chile Saturday Night With 2 Dead, There!!! Also Some Shaking From The Full Moon Window This Weekend, Too!!!

Let's start with this California Shaker that struck just a few minutes after exact moment of the Full Moon and oddly at about the same location one struck many years ago just a few hours after, and is the reason I today tend to extend the window from 24 hours, to more like 27 hours and 20 minutes. Here's what's shaking at Susanville during the Full Moon Window and you might say right in the middle of the Eclipse, too, and would appear to have been something like 6 minutes before that exact moment!!!!! This big 6.8 Chile Earthquake will be newsworthy!!! The felt report from this Saturday Night Earthquake will be mostly those from Santiago-391, but the namesake Coquimbo had 48 although that appears to also be the name of a state/province place and would total many more if you added all those up! And it was also felt as far as Buenos Aires Argentina, and Bolivia. Also, this one will probably be counted later as a Full Moon Earthquake especially since the better part of the Full Moon WAS high overhead there. . . . . albeit a couple hours before my 24 hour window was to start! However that don't sound right following a Susanville Earthquake or the exact place where I had decided to extend the window by 3 hours/20 minutes, does it! Here's the USGS for Coquimbo 6.7:

That Susanville Earthquake that I mentioned earlier struck on May 24, 2013 at 3:47 Universal Time and the Exact Moment of the Full Moon would have been May 25, 2013 at 4:27 UTC. So the Window would have begun at 4:27 and it shook about an hour earlier at 3:47am Universal Time, although not knowing what Pacific or Central was in the day. . . can tell you it looks like 40 Minutes before the window was to start and this one was a 5.7 so it could be at least part of the reason I seem to recall having extended the normal full and new moon windows to fit this and probably one or two others in that struck so close to the 24 hours!!! So full moon window would have started at January 20 5:17am Universal Time, and that Coquimbo, Chile Earthquake struck at 1:32am Universal Time on January 20 or 3 hours/35 minutes BEFORE the window!!! Missed it no matter how you look at it. . . or did it?

This one came in early on Wednesday!!! Looks like the time in California was 4:42am and pretty early at my house in Wisconsin, too!!! The day of the Northridge Earthquake on January 17, 1994 was actually the day when I began researching what all might have caused EARTHQUAKES!!! After discovering a lot of big windstorms were preceding a lot of the biggest earthquakes. . . the Landfall of Hurricane John at Johnston Atoll happened that August of 1994 and was when I determined if all those things CAUSED Major Earthquakes. . .then shouldn't I write out an alert to my friends in Hollywood, so that's what I did!!! Must admit to having been just a little surprised when on September 1, 1994 a 7 Magnitude Earthquake struck the Cape Mendocino area of Northern California and it was a big deal at the time!!!!! Along with being my very first about as accurate as I would be for a while, "Earthquake Prediction"!!!

Probably a few smaller ones over the next several years although I seem to recall not a lot of Hurricanes, so no real notable earthquakes. . . that was until one day in my Milwaukee Apprentice Class in 1997 when I told the guys an earthquake was coming and one hit the next day or so!!! THEY were surprised and that had been my first public announcement, especially on one that hit big time, too!!! Did it again at my apartment in Hollywood in 1999 when Hurricane Bret made landfall at around Brownsville, Texas/South Padre Island and on October 1 the Hector Mines Earthquake struck Los Angeles and lot of aftershocks, too!!! Then one day on a construction job at Arrowhead Water on Jaurupa Avenue in Ontario, California I told the guys on a Friday, to watch that weekend for around a 5 Magnitude for that exact region where we were taking our break at the picnic table in the shadow of big Mt. Baldy there in far Eastern L.A. Region and one hit at around 4:15am Monday Morning and all the guys there were surprised by that!!! ONE of them strolled into my L.A. Apprentice Class a few weeks later and announced me as EQ Guy!!! He went on to ask "Hey, EQ Guy, when's the next earthquake going to strike"!!! Well, one just so happened to be about overdue and so I told the class to watch that weekend!!! One struck Central America and the guys in that class were all very surprised!!!

Just going around telling people and some snail mail became a list of E-Mail Friends, and that became the EQ Blog you're reading right now!!! Over the years a number of guys have Thanked me for telling them ahead of time there was an earthquake coming! One lady in particular that's been following me now for many years on Twitter and ALWAYS made a note of every single one I got right and that was many, many. . . but she ALWAYS wrote me to mention that!!!!! Also ones from as far away as Peru, Turkey, and New Delhi and a follower from Banda Aceh, Indonesia, too!!! Thank-You, All, Everybody!!!!!

Then ones with names such as Katrina-Islamabad, Typhoon Nargis-Sichuan China Earthquake, Cyclone Winston-Ecuador Earthquake, and Cyclone Pam-Kathmandu, Nepal Earthquake are ones that make a big difference because of it being much easier to explain when people have actually heard of the storm AND the earthquake! Of course Typhoon Nanmadol-2005 Sumatra Earthquake and Tsunami, too!!! Then, one day when I was working at my local Community Radio Station the Disc-Jockey wanted me to say all that into the microphone and it wasn't long before we were doing "Earthquake Minute" there on a regular basis!!!

Today, you can always find a link to my latest book, "Bringing Earthquakes To Life" posted with everydays Edition of my EQ Blog, and "Earthquake Minute" continues on and with some occasional editions produced for "Pacifica Radio Network" too!!! So, lots of work on the Radio, along with my continued work as an actor in Chicago on Chicago Fire, and Chicago Med. . . and I'm now celebrating 25 Years as The EQ Guy and hoping for 25 More Great Years!!!!!

Huge 4.7 Richters Earthquake Struck Offshore Maryland!!!!! Still NO Tsunami Warning System Equals NO TSUNAMI Alert Is Even Possible For Anybody On East Coast!!!!! Worst Case Scenario?????

Still no tsunami alert for any of these places out along our East Coast!!! So, if this would have perchance been much bigger. . . it's possible a 10 foot or more tsunami COULD come calling, there!!! Worst Case Scenario, there??? I suppose those people are just no different than everywhere else and must HEAD for higher ground when they feel an earthquake, because it NOW means could be a tsunami to follow!!! I was out quite late Tuesday due to work and so all the big 25 Year Anniversary stuff will be in tomorrows edition, I promise!!! That is if not too much else shakes, OR if the East Coast does not get that big tsunami that they are probably about overdue for!!!
