In answer to the question that I'm going to be asking further along in todays EQ Blog, Yes they're still getting a lot of shaking out there at PNG/Solomon Islands. Here's one that just came in as you can see by the date of December 20 and the time of 4:21 although that's Universal Time and actually translates to 11:21pm Central Time or my time here at "Earthquake Central" you know! On the subject of the location of that earthquake being a little off the map. . .FROM "Hawaii News Now"--"The source of the earthquake is believed to be a bending of the oceanic plate from the weight of the Hawaiian island chain, a common source for earthquakes in this area. Aftershocks are possible and could be felt." SO THAT explains it right there!!!

And of course as we now already know that list will not be up to date due to the one at the top being just moments ago and unknown what will shake before I may update at some point on Tuesday and we're having our radio station party on Tuesday, too, so not sure when I'll be on here, sorry!
I always like to think such earthquakes that strike out there in the middle of the ocean will tend to shake, shake, shake at least just a little bit more than ones elsewhere normally do. Therefore it's pretty much unknown how much more shaking they'll be getting out there, although right at the moment it does sort of appear to be slowing somewhat. All of this could also have something to do with some of the other nearby earthquakes and maybe, I say maybe ultimately be connected to shaking across the Pacific around North, Central, and South America. . . but at the present that even goes a little beyond my work with earthquakes up to this point! Aside from the fact that we DO still know there's some shaking going on!!! Keep Watching to see where the shaking happens next!!! EQ Guy
