WORD is that there was an actual big time eruption after all of that I wrote in yesterdays EQ Blog about the amount of shaking at Hawaii getting bigger!!! I seem to recall the number of earthquakes having gone UP to over 100 a day to close to 125 a day there this week, and officials saying that might indicate something!!! Read where ash was blasted 30,000 feet into the air early Thursday, and must say it's LAVA blasting that would really worry me, although 1790 and 1924 are only years I seen anything major to speak of there. . . not saying 2018 can't be added to that!!! Here's latest 24 hour list of shaking there, and still over 100 a day which seems to be somewhat of a clue as to what's going on there:

Having been to Illinois in recent days, it occurred to me to check WHEN the next big Illinois Earthquake just might be due to shake there! Well, speaking of predominantly the Northern Region where we get the occasional ones, here's what I came up with: Latest ones were Ottawa on June 28, 2004, Elgin Region on February 10, 2010, and McHenry on January 30, 2012. So, adding up all these dates and figuring about the longest stretch between any two and I came up with 5 years, 7 months, and 13 days. Then, adding that amount of time to that most recent one at McHenry and I came up with the fact that the next one will be about due on August 23, 2017. And so we will now of course be watching and be very much aware the MEXT major one to speak of in that region is due to strike on or probably anytime AFTER in this case, last AUGUST!!!!! Could happen. . . and probably WILL happen at just about any time, now!!!!!
A few smaller shakers around Los Angeles, too, but the bigger one in this bunch made it important to run these New Zealand Region Shakers that do indeed tell us there's continued movement and might have a distant relation to Hawaii shaking:

Seemed like there should have been a lot more to write about with that big eruption at Kilauea and everything. . . but since I'm the Earthquake Guy and not the Volcano Guy, the best I can do today is mostly discuss all the shaking involved there and must say I was right!!! Shaking DID step up there enough that we were able to accurately guess that more erupting was about to happen!!! Now the shaking continues to be ramped up just enough for me to say one more time, something Major could still shake there, yet!!! Along with possibly still California and/or Alaska, too!!!
