The exact moment of the July New Moon will be at 11:16pm Pacific Time Sunday Night. Few hours yet, but so far there has already been two Major Shakers at and near New Britain Island, PNG. A 7.2 and 6.6 that happened within 2 hours of each other, Just in the last few minutes before I started writing this EQ Blog there was a swarm that has now struck at Mammoth Lakes, California starting at 20:04 to 20:32 with a total of 10 earthquakes totaling 10.8 Richters. There was a smaller swarm earlier in the day today at Anza, California totaling 7.5 Richters. Here's Those Swarms at EQ Central: http://eqalert.blogspot.com/2013/07/heres-todays-anza-and-mammoth.html Both 10 Richters and 7.5 Richters is always enough to just make me wonder if there might ever some day wind up being a correlation between those TOTALS. . . and how much movement of the ground or total earthquake energy might actually go into a 10 or 7.5 Richters Swarm? Did we dodge a Major 7.5 Earthquake at Anza when the swarm totaled 7.5 Richters?
We will now need to be watching especially close due to there being SO MUCH Major Earthquake Energy out there! Just in the time it is taking me to write the first paragraph there was a 5.8 South of Jakarta, Indonesia and a 5.9 Just 24 Miles South of San Salvador, El Salvador!!! That one struck half an hour ago and there could be MANY, MANY more where that one came from!!! Checking and looking for one that did strike at the EXACT MOMENT of the New Moon and I do recall one doing just that. . . I instead found the one that became famous @ http://earthquakealert.blogspot.com/2013/06/new-moon-window-begins-9pm-friday-add.html Yes, the now famous New Moon alert for Antiqua Island that I wrote on a Friday, only a few hours before an earthquake struck Antiqua Island early that Sunday Morning well within the June New Moon Window! You can still view the USGS Report of that Antiqua Earthquake @ http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/usc000hjn2#summary June New Moon was at 10:59 am CDT on June 8, Antiqua Struck at just after Midnight on June 9 or around 13 hours after exact moment of June New Moon.
