While the size of earthquake we are waiting for in California is not a really big one, it does still look like it might be happening soon just the same! There have now been many, many very small shakers striking California on the page of latest earthquakes where commonly there are only a few from California. There now looks like there might be an upcoming issue with some of the snow possibly melting due to the forecast being for temperatures to hit the 50 Degree range next week! So, if there is an earthquake coming, then right at the moment it has at a minimum into next week to shake because then if the snow starts melting. . . end of EQ Alert: California this time!!!
Today will be Day 33 after the landfall of Super Typhoon Bopha at the Philippines and so between today and around January 13 and 14, 2013 we will continue to keep watching for what I believe should be about the biggest earthquake of all time up in that Euro/Asian Region that I have mentioned and you can read the names in earlier EQ Blogs of up through France, Italy, Spain and etc. Two 5 Magnitude earthquakes just struck around Tonga and so we know for sure the Indian Ocean/Australian Tectonic Plate IS moving and something probably WILL SHAKE over in that Europe/Asian Region very soon. After all Super Typhoon Bopha was a Cat 5 with winds of 150 mph and gusts reported at 121 mph on landfall, so I do not see any way we can escape this Major EQ Alert by way of a lot of small 5 Richters shakers since these all combined do not convince me that all this potential earthquake energy has been released. Further, those Tonga Earthquakes from today MIGHT mean if we give this earthquake a few more days that our West Coast, Central America, or South America could get this 7.7 to 9.0 Richters shaker. . . or somewhere among the islands of Oceania in between!!!
