New Madrid, Illinois, Chicago Earthquake Coming!!!!! 5.9 Richters??? ALSO: L.A. Bottled Water Plant Story, and The Double-Whammy Continues!

As the days roll on towards all of those other earthquakes that are coming I personally am looking at the earthquake energy from the landfall at Mexico of Hurricane Barbara with maximum wind gusts that had reached nearly 100 Miles Per Hour! I can't help looking over my shoulder and watching down around my neighbors in the Fox Lake, Elgin, and Ottawa, Illinois towns who have all been epicenters of recent Major Illinois Earthquakes and knowing this one might be about the biggest of all the recent ones. . . with that line practically dissecting me as I sit here just to the North of there in Wisconsin where we routinely shake in sympathy with every Illinois Earthquake! Just a matter of time, seems like or hours or another day or two before this one should show up down around Illinois or the New Madrid Region.

Of course nobody can forget the upcoming potential Rancho Cucamonga Earthquake that COULD be heading directly for my friends in the Los Angeles Area!!! Heads up Burke and Virgil, this one could be heading directly for you guys! Back in April of 2000 us guys were working on a "Conveyor Job" at a Los Angeles Bottled Water Plant and at breaktime on a Friday I warned of an earthquake heading directly for the Fontana Area where we were taking our break in the shadow of Mt. Baldy, "Should be around 5 or 5.6 late Sunday or early Monday Morning" were my words and a 5.3 struck Fontana at 4:15am on Monday Morning directly under the home of one of the guys! Today the L.A. Bottled Water Plant Prediction, but today also very near the potential epicenter of this upcoming Double-Whammy!!! Watching for a 7.9 Richters Earthquake! Seriously, I am like all of you and HOPE it doesn't strike!!! EQ Guy

Epicenter: Fontana, Rancho Cucomonga, Banning or Beaumont, California??? 7.6??? Double-Whammy???

I was just about to write todays EQ Blog when my phone chimed with Beaumont and it's been ringing all day with Susanville, Hollister, Palos Verdes, and even just this moment Santa Barbara Again!!! My latest bet is that the area around the California Speedway in the heart of beautiful downtown Fontana, California might be at or very near the potential epicenter of a 7.6 which hopefully won't be that big! Yes, Ontario, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga my notes say that I wanted to write, but other towns that come to mind are Pomona, Yucaipa, Redlands, San Jacinto, and Hemet.

Here's the bad news, now. While the earthquake energy from my recent Official Prediction may or may not be high risk to the Los Angeles area the people in that region who are reading this might already know that this one that is presently shaking all of those communities MIGHT BE something to worry about. Still the Mexicali/Calexico 5 to 7.6 is an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT source of major earthquake energy and will remain on the heading towards Imperial County and Tijuana, BC, Mexico, but IS NOT what's going on around Los Angeles right this moment! Rather they are shaking from the aftershocks of the 5.9 Susanville Earthquake! The Double-Whammy Effect that I discussed in an earlier blog could have an effect but just sayin' if it does it could dramatically raise the highest magnitude of this combined earthquake alert! Regarding the exact point where the two earthquake energies CROSS, Islamabad was the most recent hot spot where two crossed and it became huge! Therefore, maybe 7.9 or TWO in the range of 7.6 AND 7.7 on the Richter Scale! Maybe MORE! Be Prepared Beaumont, San Jacinto, and Rancho Cucamonga the Double-Whammy could be coming!!! EQ Guy

Major Earthquake Could Strike Along San Andreas Fault Next! Eureka? San Francisco?

First the 5.9 near Susanville, then the 8.3 Kamchatka earthquake, then a couple directly along the San Andreas Fault at Avenal, and Hollister, then early today a 4.9 strikes near Santa Barbara! This has now been followed by several aftershocks that are saying this area is still on the move! Thinking about this matter throughout the day today I came up with the fact that they are probably all connected and that the Major Susanville Shaker having been a strike-slip fault could have been pushing down or south on that region and could have resulted in those smaller shakers out in that San Joaquin Valley region and if it continued pushing south COULD well have been the energy released in that 4.9 now downgraded to 4.8 near Santa Barbara. My opinion is that when the earthquake energy did cross the San Andreas Fault, is Susanville which resulted in a total of over 200 Richters earthquake energy, is that still pushing down on the San Andreas Fault and could it cause a HUGE MOVEMENT of that Major Fault Line? And was the movement along the tectonic plate at Santa Barbara indicating it was pushing even more towards Santa Barbara, or Long Beach? Therefore I suppose it is possible we should watch all along the San Andreas Fault Line now starting up at Eureka, California and continuing on down to San Francisco, Daly City, Palo Alto, and South to Tehachapi, Bakersfield, California City, Mojave and Pearblossom. Beyond that point it occurs to me that the geographical spots that might now be affected by this new movement of the SAFL are already under the standing Official Prediction such as Barstow and Landers!!! NOW, Landers appears to be under BOTH of these Huge EQ Alerts!!!!! Could become a "Double-Whammy" up there in that High Desert Region, but I suppose it would be more likely to get two Major Shakers. Los Angeles being just beyond there and Whittier, Puente Hills, and Long Beach among the now VERY Likely Targets for a LOT of New Earthquake Energy!!!!! Update as of writing there has been a water main break in Downtown Hollywood at Cahuenga and Franklin! Directly ON that Hollywood Fault Line!!! Everybody in Los Angeles should seriously discuss earthquake preparation in the coming days! EQ Guy

4.9 Just Struck West of Santa Barbara!!! Tropical Storm Barbara Making Landfall Soon!!!

As of 10:05am Central Time the 4.9 was also downgraded to something like 4.6, but still a HUGE earthquake for that Santa Barbara Region with felt reports coming in from Bakersfield, Arroyo Grande, Camarillo, Frazier Park, Long Beach, Lynwood, Mailbu, Beverly Hills, Ojai, Paso Robles, Sherman Oaks, Venice, and Woodland Hills in addition to a few from Los Angeles Zip Codes, too! Could be the earthquake energy still pushing down on that "Strike-Slip" Fault up around that recent Susanville, California earthquake that was immediately followed by that 8 Magnitude Kamchatka earthquake back in this weekends "Full Moon Window". HOWEVER, Keep in mind that there is still that one major source of potential earthquake energy that may well be approaching Southern California and bumping Point Conception up that way. 5 to 7.6 Richters could still be out there and could not only strike Mexicali/Calexico. . . but as many of you know it COULD strike the heart of Whittier, Long Beach, or even a little out of the way place like Santa Barbara, or Bakersfield! Be Prepared California! There COULD still be more major earthquake energy coming!!! And Tropical Storm/Hurricane Barbara is presently making landfall at any moment heading due north across Central America and will mean much more new earthquake energy, too! 5.0 Richters East Southeast of Algeria! Sound Familiar? Tropical Storm Barbara Making Landfall in Central America!

Algeria would sound familiar if you are like all the others who have been reading my recent Official Prediction wherein I mention the fact that I switch from using a globe to using a map when I run into such unknown regions as "The countries West and Southwest of Algeria." Well, the reason I was using Algeria as an example as most of you know is because it was the exact line we are presently watching and talking about, the one that also goes through Philadelphia, Richmond, and Washington DC! Found several more tornado/earthquake combinations that are applicable in this O.P. including Andouver, Kansas April 26, 1991 that preceded a 6.2 at Panama on May 4, 1991 or Day 8. Wheatland, Pennsylvania May 31, 1985 tornado preceded a 6.6 Mid-Atlantic on June 6-Day 6 and 6.1 Solomon Islands on June 23. Jarrell, TX tornado May 27, 1997 preceded a huge 8.2 earthquake on June 22 or Day 26 as well as one in Lorca Spain on June 6. Finally a Waco, Texas tornado on May 11, 1953 that preceded a 6.9 Magnitude Earthquake at the Island of Hispaniola on May 31, 1953 or Day 20. According to these I am starting to get the idea that we might be looking at another 8 Magnitude Earthquake coming AND that we might be extending this alert/O.P. later in the week to include Day 23 and Day 26 after the recent Moore Tornado.

Hurricane Barbara is looking like it's going to be making landfall very soon down in Central America somewhere in the coming hours and I will have all the details as soon as something happens with that. If it turns out to be big enough, it was just reported at 60mph, it could mean more new earthquake energy and will mean an immediate alert for earthquakes in the Central America Region! Will Next Shaker Strike Mexicali/Calexico Near Epicenter of 2010 Baja California Earthquake???

I want to add a couple of more Tornado/Earthquake correlations to the discussion at this point, however at least one of these leans more towards Day 20 which would automatically continue the Official Prediction until like June 9th when the banner headline says before Midnight on June 3! With this Saturday being the official end date I generally prefer to just run through that date and go from there, although on this occasion it is looking much like it may need to be extended due to the correlation extending. EXAMPLE: A Tornado that struck Jackson, Mississippi on June 3, 1966 seems to have been followed on Day 24 by the 1966 Parkfield Earthquake. Another Tornado that struck Galliapolis, Ohio on April 23, 1968 was followed on Day 23 by an 8.0 on the Richter Scale at Japan. And on June 4, 1958 there was a huge tornado at Colfax, Wisconsin followed on Day 35 by a HUGE EARTHQUAKE up around Juneau, Alaska that had a MEGA-TSUNAMI measuring over 1700 Feet High!!!!! Sooooooooo, those are the numbers that I have right this moment to add! There will be more to come as the exact date and moment of the end gets near. . . end of that Official Prediction that is.

F.Y.I. the line of possible potential seismic energy that travels in the opposite direction of the direction the recent Moore, Oklahoma tornado traveled on the ground goes almost directly through Mexicali and Calexico and very near Yuma, Arizona. It also continues on very near Ensenada and kind of near Tijuana also! It will ultimately continue on to intersect Hawaii, The Solomon Islands, Kiribati, and Cairns. Just found that Mexicali/Calexico is situated 25 miles North of the epicenter of the 2010 Baja California Earthquake of 7.2 on the Richter Scale that's also famous for shaking Los Angeles!!!

Repeat of 1992 Landers Earthquake Coming To Los Angeles Region?????

Phone just chimed tonight with a 3.3 near Barstow! Epicenter of tonights 3.3 happens to be exactly 75 miles North of the epicenter of the 1992 Landers Earthquake of 7.3 on the Richter Scale! Just so happens to be almost the exact region that we are now watching for a Major Earthquake of around the same magnitude! Thought about how all the seismic energy released up in Northern California might affect the STILL upcoming Los Angeles Earthquake which could strike this week, and decided that they were two entirely different sources of Major Earthquake Energy and may not have any effect at all on each other. Three actually, since there was also that small series of Baja California Earthquakes that preceded all of the full moon earthquakes we should just about be through with now. Because at best all my readers at least knew, and you can even see the headline in that URL, too!!! "About To Happen" is the word and the date was May 17!!! What else could I say?

Day 10 after the landfall of Cyclone Mahasen will be TODAY!!! This is the date after the landfall of Cyclone Nargis that the now Great Sichuan, China Earthquake struck killing 69,000! While we could easily have watched all that earthquake energy pass Kamchatka and Shake Susanville as well, I usually as a precaution like to continue watching along those lines just in case Idaho, Nepal, or Sichuan, China still gets something! Day 10 may not say Yellowstone and Montana or Seattle, but those regions are so close and there is so much major earthquake energy that could be still out there that I sometimes call this my "Unexploded Dynamite Theory". And I personally will also be watching Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Indiana, and Ohio due to there just being a lot of shaking going on!

The next Major Earthquake is scheduled to strike and severly SHAKE Los Angeles very soon, now so if you are in Los Angeles like my friends Craig, Jorge, Aiden, Dino, and etc., then it is time to have a few days of extra bottled water, a good sharp ax, chain saw, hammer and screwdrivers nearby. Huge California Earthquake Last Night!!! 5.9 Northwest of Carson City Near Susanville!

There were 1390 felt reports from Sacramento, 464 from Chico, California, 5 from Klamath Falls, Oregon, 250 from Reno, 70 Fresno, 9 from San Jose and 1 each from Monterey, San Luis Obispo, and 15 from Modesto. There have been literally a thousand aftershocks and my phone chimed virtually the whole night and looks like it now has upwards of 30 just received since I deleted a lot of them while watching the hockey game!

If you have been closely following this earthquake energy then I want you to know this would not have been the earthquake energy that I filed the recent Official Prediction on @ http://earthquakealert2.blogspot.com/2013/05/official-prediction-for-major.html . . . . . THAT one will still be in effect for Los Angeles and could strike more towards the end of the week. The Los Angeles one was more traveling towards the state line between The Mexican State of Baja California and the US State of California, or Yuma, Imperial, San Diego County, etc. I will continue to have updates on that still possibly upcoming earthquake into next week! There WILL BE more earthquakes down Baja California way, though, so everybody continue to be prepared!

Finally, there was an 8.2 Richters Earthquake that struck right at the end of the night up at the Northeast tip of Kamchatka and USSR where it just about meets those Alaska Islands and this could well have been the sum of the earthquake energy sent up that direction from the landfall of Cyclone Mahasen at Bangladesh 12 days prior. As of this writing there have been no damage reports in from that region and the shaking was reportedly felt as far away as Moscow, much of China and Japan, and places like Italy and Kurgastan. My opinion is that should be the end of that earthquake alert, but of course earthquakes can always happen and it could also advance the movement of the Eurasian Tectonic Plate and still result in more movement yet up in that shaky Himilayan Arc where Nepal, Tibet, and Sichuan China are. . . so let us keep watching up in that region a few more days for what I call aftershocks.

The full moon actually will BEGIN tonight at 9:27pm Pacific Time and so remember the Full Moon Window will continue for a whole day, yet!!! Actually through 9:27pm tomorrow night Pacific Time!!! Could Be More Major Earthquakes associated with this now so far very bad Full Moon Window!!!

5.7 Richters Susanville, North East California Near Reno!!! MORE Coming!!! Try an 8.2 that Just Struck Kamchatka!!!

LOOKS like there is not a tsunami, so let us hope one does not strike Alaska or Anchorage!

Now back to that EQ Blog I was writing!!!: There is a LOT MORE earthquake energy where that (Northern California) one came from late last night as the full moon shined high up overhead! (It was shining high over that 8.2 also) There have now been so many aftershocks in that same region (Northern California) that I can not count how many times my phone has chimed with 2 and 3 Richters Shakers! One news report said that a lodge up in that immediate region has suffered quite a lot of damage being within a mile or so of that epicenter but no injuries were reported. I noticed hundreds of felt reports from all over the San Francisco Bay area as far as San Jose and Daly City, too! 5.9 Richters Strikes Northern California Near Reno, NV Tonight!!!

Yes, with that May 2013 Full Moon shining high overhead the Northern California region up around Truckee, Susanville, and Reno has just got a 5.9 Richters Major Earthquake with tons of felt reports coming in from Sacramento! New Earthquake Heading Directly for Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties!!! But How Big, Exactly?

This Major Earthquake is heading directly for Los Angeles!!! Possibly just a little to the South such as Orange County or even more towards San Diego and would be more likely to strike the desert regions and should probably include Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, too! There was a 5.0 that struck near Palm Springs on May 14, 1999 immediately following the last Moore, Oklahoma Tornado on May 2, 1999. Although there was also a 6.2 that struck Iran on May 11, 1999 indicating the sum total might also need to be taken into consideration here. The number of dates just might end up being universal for this sort of correlation since there was also a June 14-18, 1992 Tornado Series that preceded the Landers Earthquake on June 28, 1992 or Day 14. The details are now in at more than a mile wide and running for 17 miles and yesterdays Moore, Oklahoma Tornado has been upgraded to EF-5 with winds now above 200 mph!

Due to the line of Earthquake Energy expected to follow this huge path of destruction we will now also need to be watching up around Washington, DC, Philidelphia, Richmond, and out around Hawaii, Kiribati, and Tuvulu Islands which are all along that line and any of these places could shake in the coming days! Of course as I have said in earlier EQ Blogs there could also still be some shaking in the immediate region of Texas, Oklahoma, New Madrid, Tennessee, Missouri, and Illinois. Who Will Get This HUGE Earthquake? Los Angeles/Baja California??? As Big As 7.9?

The brand new line of major earthquake energy goes almost directly through Los Angeles, California! Actually just south of there near San Diego which they say is on the other side of that major tectonic plate boundary, and directly across the State of Baja California, Mexico. It also heads North up past Ottawa, Canada AGAIN, and I noticed a small earthquake at Algiers that coincided with the alert from a few days ago and now see Algiers along this line to the North again now! As a precaution only, I wish to bump the maximum possible magnitude up to 7.9 and so my original numbers of 6.7 to 7.6 applied until today. . . there is just that small chance that somebody COULD get an even bigger earthquake and so let us say as big as 7.9 now. Due to the fact that Texas and Oklahoma have been so shaky in recent times, I want to add that it is still a reasonable bet that Texas or Oklahoma, or Illinois/Missouri/Tennessee could also still get a shaker but hopefully not a bigger one than the ones they usually get, you know.

There were still over 200 Richters of other earthquake energy not connected to the recent mile wide 200mph tornado and that earthquake energy may still be up in Nepal/Tibet/Sichuan, China for a few days yet. . . then Idaho WHO ARE ALREADY SHAKING! Yes, two Idaho/Montana earthquakes early today! A 2.9 at 8:34utc, and a 2.5 at 11:20utc or 5:34 and 6:20am Central Time. Both 84 Miles North Northwest of Idaho Falls as well as a 2.7 Amboy, Washington at 2:03 CDT. I know it doesn't always mean anything major is coming, but I do also know it means something is shaking up that way and there is A LOT of earthquake energy out there waiting to happen, so just sayin'

Huge Tornado Strikes Oklahoma!!! KEEP Watching for 6.7 to 7.9 Richters!

The tornado that struck late today just South of Oklahoma City was reportedly one mile wide and left a swath of destruction across Moore, Oklahoma. As of this writing they are reporting 51 dead and winds have been said to be 200 miles per hour. There was one person killed late yesterday in Shawnee, Oklahoma and tornadoes that also struck Northeast of Oklahoma City in addition to that 2.5 Earthquake that struck 29 miles East Northeast of OKC @ http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/usb000gzfa#summary

For tonight I just want to say Baja California, Mexico City Volcano, Alaska Islands, Anchorage, and Idaho/Yellowstone since Frisco is unlikely to get a major earthquake tonight and I will have a full update first thing tomorrow. It just came in within the last hour that Kamchatka had a 6.0 that you can add to all of the other 166 Richters plus the others since yesterdays EQ Blog for a total now of 207.6 Richters up around Kamchatka out at the tip of that Alaska Islands Region! Something is really on the move up that way and will most likely continue to move, however it's most likely some sort of a Tectonic Plate Movement as well, and will probably ultimately lead to a Major Shaking somewhere! It seems probable to me that all of that 207 Richters of tectonic plate movement could lead to one very big earthquake possibly up there yet in that Alaska/Canada Islands Region! HUGE Swarm Strikes Kamchatka Region!!! Alaska or California Next? Watch for 7 or 8 Richters!!!

All of this just happened today including some seismic activity at the Mexico City Volcano @ http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/popocatepetl-volcano-outside-mexico-city-still-spitting-ash/1/272057.html . . . and now a total of 166 Richters of Medium sized earthquakes striking up around Kamchatka and very near the tip of the Alaska Islands in fact so close that 166 Richters virtually guarantees somebody else is going to be shaking very, very soon! While it does not seem like it would be California, keep in mind that the population of Anchorage, Alaska is not so far off along that chain of islands that usually shake next after that region of Russia. Why or how all of the shakers down in Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic rang in this event could probably be considered virtually unknown and additionally the power of that landfall of Cyclone Mahasen was not thought to be that major, we should still be aware that 166 Richters is a lot of earthquake energy! And it just might be headed directly for a populated area. . . and our West Coast!!! I did have this earthquake energy rated at between 6.7 and 7.6 Richters but as a precaution why don't we all keep in mind that it now looks like it could reach, say a 7.9 Magnitude for some of the more shaky regions! Just that it could become a Major Earthquake especially somewhere up in that shaky Alaska/Canada Islands Region. Remember if this one does not shake up around the North, Idaho and Yellowstone is next! Might count on adding Seattle, Mt. St. Helens, and Oregon in the immediate future, too, because they could very soon find themselves next in line, then San Francisco!!!!! Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico Getting Earthquakes!!! Be Watching and Be Prepared for a Major Earthquake!!!

Since my last EQ Blog New Zealand got a 4.2 and a 4.8, Iceland a 4.4, and it is starting to look like some kind of a Swarm might be forming around the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico Region which includes Haiti. Starting with a 3.6 at 1:37am this morning Central Time and followed by 3.1, 3.6, 2.9, 4.1, 3.0, 3.7, and 3.6 that struck just after 10am this morning Central Time or an hour ago as I write. We do know there is a lot going on out there with new earthquake energy and let us still watch the places I've been listing in my previous EQ Blogs. We are especially still watching Nepal and China, but we might also start watching Idaho and Yellowstone and Baja California, Mexico.

You will also want to know about that Mexico City Volcano, too! Well it was discovered to have formed a new crater in the last couple days in a fly over, and the nearby town is still on alert, but it remains my opinion that the earthquake energy heading down Mexico way is heading more for Enseneda and Baja California than all the way down that far south. This is not to say it will not erupt. . . rather that up to this point none of this new earthquake energy should be a factor contributing to a major eruption! Maybe next time.

As far as that big horse race yesterday at Pimlico Racetrack and that 2013 Preakness, I just so happen to have bet five dollars across the board on Oxbow and he WON THE RACE for owner D. Wayne Lucas and ME!!!!! Cashed in that winning ticket for $126!!! 6.0 Tokyo!!! 4.3 Eureka!!! More Earthquakes Coming!!! Big One???

A Major Earthquake struck early today 25 miles off the shore of Japan and 172 miles from Tokyo where buildings shook. It was reported to be close to the epicenter of the 9.0 March 2011 Japan Earthquake. There was also a 4.3 about an hour ago that struck at Northern California 35 miles South Southwest of Eureka and 18 miles Southwest of Rio Dell, California.

Keep watching for Major Earthquakes because it is possible that neither of these big shakers was the "Grand Finale" you know! We will continue to especially watch the Himilayan Arc up around Nepal, Sichuan, China and very soon. . . IDAHO!!!!! Which will include Yellowstone, Seattle, and California and is starting to be in the window of an earthquake as big as 7.6 Richters!!! Yes, there is a lot of major earthquake energy out there as you can see by just the ones that shook early today! Are these foreshocks for the next major one? I will answer that with my own personal opinon being that the range I am currently watching for is 6.7 to 7.6 still mostly for the China Region, but note that California did just get a 4.3 so what will happen next??? A lot has happened since early today and I want to update! Just seen a 4.4 struck at Maindong, China only a couple hundred miles from Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet as I stated, and right in the middle of the region where we should now continue watching for HUGE Earthquake energy! So Please Keep Watching that Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, and Sichuan, China Region for the next Major Earthquake!!! COULD be a big shaker!!!

Next, I have now located a general line along which the Texas tornado might have traveled being probably West to East or not much further than Southwest to Northeast and these lines clearly show Baja California and do not intersect the Mexico City Volcano, however the lines DO intersect Ottawa, Canada where they just had a 4.4 in the last several hours, too! HUGE Earthquake May Be Coming!!! Bhutan, Nepal, Sichuan? 7.6 Richters? Also: West Coast? TX? OK???

Hello, I have just completed an extensive search across the globe and with the World Atlas and have come up with the following geographic areas that will most likely get some of this new earthquake energy from the landfall of Cyclone Mahasen at Chittagong, Bangladesh. The general region where this now upcoming Major Earthquake COULD strike are: Nowgong, Tinsukia, Bhutan, Silaguri, Nepal and the Churia Range, and the Chengdu Region of Sichuan, China. It will also be possible Bangladesh and Myanmar could get some earthquake energy along the way, too. A similar Cyclone named Nargis struck this region on May 2, 2008 and the now Great Sichuan, China earthquake struck days later on May 12, 2008 killing 69,000. Cyclone Mahasen WAS NOT as large as Nargis with highest winds around 60mph, so I might guess the range of this earthquake at 6.9 to 7.6 Richters, while the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake was 8.0 Richters, although Nargis had 105mph winds. Note that I discovered Idaho and Yellowstone up and over the globe on this one for down the road, so it could become a major West Coast factor more towards the end of May 2013.

There was a tornado that struck Texas last night at Granbury, TX that was rated EF-4 with winds reported at 160 to 200 miles per hour and I will need the route of the path on the ground there to give more exact info, but for now this could produce Msjor Earthquake Energy that could strike anywhere along our West Coast. I will be updating on this info since it could become serious as more information comes in. As of this writing the Weather Service was investigating, but my notes say a wide swath of homes and scores of homes flattened. I would even watch that immediate region for a 5 or 6 Richters earthquake in the coming hours which will indicate something heading for the tectonic plate boundary with the Pacific later. The activity of the Popocatepetl Volcano near Mexico City could be increased by all of this new seismic energy, too.

4.0 Wyoming! More Now Coming!!! Mahasen Makes Landfall at Myanmar!!!

A 4.0 Richters Earthquake has just struck up around Wyoming, like a hundred miles or so South of Yellowstone. There could now be more earthquakes coming in the next few hours, but for tonight I have to post that Cyclone Mahasen just made landfall as a Category 1 downgraded. Some of that downgrade could have been with the interaction with land in the hours before landfall at Myanmar, Port of Chittagong to be exact. They also got 500mm of rain and the winds just now reported at 60mph, but I do not know if that includes gusts, which could go as high as about 70 knots or 80 mph.

Earthquake energy will now be headed immediately up towards China, but could affect a lot of other areas right in that region such as Italy, Greece, Turkey, Nepal, and possibly Indonesia and Japan. I will have a complete update at some point, but for now let us watch this new earthquake energy to generate something in the area of 6.5 to 7.6 Richters especially right at the moment up in that Himilayan Arc Region. Also, there may still be some left over earthquake energy out along our West Coast but that was only a 5.9 we were waiting for and I am presently not worried about that. . . although that one MIGHT still hit out there somewhere! Will Mexico City Volcano Erupt? ALSO: New Earthquake Energy Coming, too!

I want to add here that there is presently a new Tropical Cyclone in the Bay of Bengals that might very soon come to effect what happens with the volcano! TC Mahasen currently has wind speeds of 50 and Gusts up to 65mph and is expected to increase in the coming hours and probably make landfall in another day or so. The prediction for 36 hours is winds of 65 and Gusts of 92mph which is just enough to start watching for some earthquake energy like up around that tectonic plate boundary with China at the Sichuan Region and there are a number of others who might be affected as soon as Mahasen makes landfall such as possibly Indonesia and Japan. I will have an update as soon as I know more, but at present this landfall might be associated with say 6 to 7.6 Richters up that way. Volcano In Mexico Covers Town in Ash!!! More Seismic Energy Coming???

Here is a follow up story to the late breaking story from yesterdays EQ Blog: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/08/popocatepetl-volcano-eruption-covers-mexican-towns-in-ash_n_3238967.html?utm_hp_ref=world . . . it mostly shows pics of a town that was covered in volcano ash early this week when a volcano near Mexico City spewed ash. Popocatepetl is presently acting like it might evolve at any moment into a major volcano eruption affecting Mexico City. In addition to yesterdays 7 Richters at the Marriana Islands there was a 5.0 at Kamchatka and a 4.4 at Kodiak Island, Alaska like early today or late last night. The sum total from the Iran Series has now totaled 139.5 Richters, but seems to have moved on with very little more shaking that exact epicentral region.

I believe the Mexico City Volcano is an indication that we have some seismic activity along the tectonic plate boundary between the Pacific and North American Tectonic Plate and we should continue to watch along the San Andreas Fault and pretty much all of that shaky West Coast region for hopefully just something small and no bigger than 6 Richters. I want to stay with 5 to 6. Keep Watching! EQ Guy

7 Richters Near Guam! Let's Keep Watching West Coast!!! 5 to 6 Richters???

For whatever reason this 7 Richters Shaker has just struck right out there in the middle of the Mariannas Islands in the middle of that big series of Volcanoes and Islands around the Mariannas Trench. While the shaker at that point might not truly indicate our West Coast is next. . . it probably could be considered as an indication the Pacific Plate may be moving in response to all the shaking at Iran in recent days as well as the 5.7 at the Alaska Islands. So, it is a fact that our West Coast could be next in line for the continued smallish movement of the Pacific Tectonic Plate and there is not much else shaking around the world right at the moment so this is pretty much all there is to watch!

I suppose the U.S. Postal Service could come up with a way that we can click on someones "Snail Mail" address and send them a short text message by way of a postcard that gets printed out in say L.A., or Frisco similar to a Twitter or Facebook, or I.M. message and simply charge my account a few cents. I'm sure advertising would make use of it, but it is what we need and they do still have the advantage of being the only service who delivers cards and letters, so just saying. I think we could also use our very own street address/E-Mail address if the U.S. Postal Service was to get into the E-Mail biz! Mine could be: eqguy110RandomAve@yourcity.state.90028.usps.gov or something along that line there. What would yours be? Then, I would see no reason the USPS couldn't become a major provider of E-Mail service to us as well. Came up with all that today while returning parts to junkyards for "Core" reimbursement, or the $25 they give you back when you bring in your old in my case alternator. 5.7 DOES Strike Alaska Islands!!! Not Much More Coming!??? How's 5 or 6 Richters, Yet?

First off tonight we have that 5.7 Richters Shaker that did in fact strike late Sunday Night out in the middle of the Alaska Islands @ http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/usc000guyr#summary . . . Of course you all seen it posted here yesterday in my EQ Blog of Saturday, May 11, 2013 from like Saturday Morning, that it WOULD, and have also commented that to me! Also happening, but no worries, is this very recent 4.7 at the Galapagos Triple Plate Junction. Not sure if every one knows Galapagos means turtle in Spanish. . . but maybe if this turns into an all clear in the coming days we can have us a little Spanish Lesson or two, Amigos!!! So, you are up-to-date and already knew because you read my EQ Blog regularly that there was some shaking due up in the Alaska Islands. . . then you also know the Pacific Tectonic Plate MIGHT push against the North American Plate NEXT! I will now say just 5 or 6 Richters due to the Guttenberg-Richter Law @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gutenberg%E2%80%93Richter_law . . . that is similar, but possibly not an exact match, to the explanation for why the size of earthquakes in this series should go down, and a 6.3 would now seem like a very big earthquake with the amount of seismic energy left here. 6.0 Iran!!! HUGE Series of Shakers Followed!!!!! New Moon Correlation?????

I always say just watch right up till that last moment of the Full and now New Moons to see exactly what might be going on here!!! NOW a 6.0 Struck at Iran just as that 8:22pm Central Time end of the New Moon Window arrived at 9:08pm Central Time!!! (6:08am in Iran) Followed by as of this writing something like 10 more earthquakes in the 4 and 5 Richters Range!!! (16 as of Saturday Morning) Felt reports currently coming in from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ujman!!! USGS @ http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/usc000gtvs#summary

LOTS of Seismic Energy right now presently shaking over around the Indian Ocean Tectonic Plate including a 4.7 near Libya, therefore we should please continue to be watching through the weekend just in case that plate might kick back against the Pacific. This time be aware that we missed Sichuan, China the last time this happened and we might even recall that those Japan Islands got some of this energy on the rebound, and Kuril Islands, don't forget the Aleutians, and Andreanoff Islands. 3.5 Richters Shakes San Francisco!!! Keep Watching Through Friday, New Moon Day!!!!!

With felt reports from Redwood City, Milpitas, Daly City, Frisco, many from San Jose, Palo Alto, and Sunnyvale, this 3.5 that struck just after 10pm local time in Frisco was sure felt pretty much all across the San Francisco area. JUST SAYIN' that in the future I hope we can announce when it is New Moon day/night due to there being SOME folks who might like to know this sort of information!!! DEBATE: IS There a Correlation with Major Earthquakes and New Moon/Full Moon? AND Keep Watching for 5 or 6 Richers!!!

I have all the math that I will ever need to see and appreciate all the additional stuff that folks have forwarded to me about it. I have been tracking earthquakes for twenty years now and have done electronics and mechanical stuff many, many more years beyond that and believe me when I say I know what I am talking about, here. Science is more or less made up of different theories and while there may always be folks who will dispute anothers theory, it is my understanding that science allows theories to be studied and researched and they become laws of science as a result. One or two folks tonight, mostly it would seem through name calling, have disputed my work. . . but my regular readers probably know I routinely use words such as could, might, and may strike. This months New Moon was never one of those that my regular readers have become familiar with on occasions that I have been tracking major seismic energy, especially when it's led to major earthquakes. You may go back to the front page of my Earthquake Twitter at: www.twitter.com/eqalert and see a lot of the writing that occurred as a result of this. And I will appreciate anyone who can tell of your own experiences of being in the path of earthquakes that I have tracked and what that was like. We Are IN The New Moon Window!!! Watch For Earthquakes!!! 5 or 6 Richters???!!!

Yes, the window for this months New Moon and the possibility that it could bring with it some seismic energy in the range of 5 or 6 Richters is now upon us! If you go with the 24 Hours before and after the exact moment you will want to know that the exact moment will fall at 8:22pm tonight Central Time, 6:22 Pacific Time. There has been at least one in just the recent months that struck on March 11, 2013 on the exact date of that months New Moon along with a whole series that day beginning with a 4.7 at 9:55am Pacific Time at Anza in San Diego County, while noting the exact moment of the New Moon fell at 11:54am Pacific Time or around 2 Hours apart. The 2 hour time before todays exact New Moon Moment will fall at 4:22pm Pacific Time, however it is highly unlikely that event will or could be duplicated. . . or IS IT???

So, Let Us Watch around that 4, or 6, or 8pm mark tonight, especially around Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Eureka for a little 5 or 6 Richters Shaker to not do any damage and Thank-You Again for Reading and Always Being Prepared! EQ Guy

Volcano Erupts and Kills at Least 5! EQ Alert Continues! New Moon Tomorrow Night!!!

Actually seen this in the morning paper that there has now been at least 5 killed in the eruption of Mount Mayon in the Philippines as of just yesterday! SEE@ http://www.standardmedia.co.ke/?articleID=2000083154&story_title=philippine-volcano-mount-mayon-in-deadly-eruption So, that small amount of earthquake energy just MIGHT have been headed in the direction of the Philippines, however I'd have to check the number of days and speed seismic energy might have traveled to be sure. AM SURE that the exact moment of this months NEW MOON will fall at 20:32 on May 9, 2013 my time or Central Daylight Time, so actually at 8:32pm tomorrow night, 6:32 Pacific!

With all of the smallish earthquake energy going on, I would want to BE WATCHING for something to shake beginning immediately, but especially in the 24 hour period before that exact moment which will begin at around tonights sunset! Let us still watch for this one to ultimately be around 5 or 6 Richters which has not happened yet and I calculated that seismic energy that could have left the Mountain States and pushed against the Pacific Tectonic Plate COULD have beared enough weight that kept moving in that direction. That is COULD have; I did not say it DID either bear enough weight OR that it WILL continue. Those more exacting scientific details will still need to be worked out and that will take me some time into the future since my study of the connection with the NEW MOON and potential seismic energy is very much still in its infancy you understand. BE WATCHING because many of these have now struck on the New Moon!!! And Be Prepared for a smallish to medium sized 5 or 6 Richters Shaker which hopefully WILL NOT do any damage! Earthquake (s) Strike Ventura County, California!!! 3.5 and 3.7, More Coming?

Might not have noticed these two shakers that were on the list early today up around Ojai, California except that I discovered a CBS 2 Los Angeles story that describes them as 2 Different Earthquakes @ http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2013/05/07/2-earthquakes-rattle-ventura-county/ and lists them as a few seconds apart. Seems to me like it is common for the USGS to review such earthquakes and make such changes. If you check the list of latest earthquakes I notice it now appears to be the same earthquake listed twice, which could mean the USGS changed it now into ONE earthquake. Let's continue to watch now for a few more hours and days for a 5 or 6 Richters Shaker, since that incident early today would add up to 7.2 Richters if adding them up was worth anything? Only means twice the total amount of earthquake energy to me, BUT in general it is a vibration measurement that shows how much "Noise" the ground made as it was moving and has more to do with the amount of friction the movement encountered. It DOES however indicate the ground is moving up around Ventura County, California and MIGHT move more, yet!!! Be Prepared! EQ Guy

Is There A Grand Finale Out There??? 5 or 6 Richters??? Who Goes to "Pick-A-Part"???

Yes they have been getting a lot of those little Wyoming, Yellowstone, Idaho, Aleutian Islands earthquakes as well as a 4 Richters shaker in New Zealand, but I'm writing tonight to say that it is looking more and more like there may not be a "Grand Finale" after all. I was asked when I thought the Grand Finale would be and so I checked and the temperatures in Denver, Bismark, and Rochester, MN are all presently hovering around the 70 Degree mark these days and I can't imagine much of those severe winter conditions from now several days ago still being present, rather I'm picturing folks out walking, jogging, biking, and rollerblading. . . hardly the type of activities that precede a major earthquake! HOWEVER, let us still continue to watch for a few more days just in case that 5 or 6 Richters of earthquake energy had already left the region and pushed along the tectonic plate boundary out west and something might still shake as a result. NOTE that I said MIGHT. After a few more days of Springlike temperatures across that once severely wintery region, then I will think about going back to another all clear. . . but not yet!

One of my favorite pastimes back in the days when I was working out in Los Angeles was checking out a place they called "Pick-A-Part" and I am writing today to say that sometimes you can get a Great Deal from these places that specialize in Used Auto Parts! And don't be afraid to call a Junk Yard. . . or Salvage Yard to be more politically correct these days and see if they can help you out with whatever part you need for your car or truck! EQ Guy

2 Just Shook Idaho!!! WATCH For More!!! 5 or 6 Richters Coming???

Just saw a 4.2 struck 30 Miles Southeast of Pocatello, Idaho and then found another 3.6 struck there seven minutes later! Therefore I must write late tonight that this fair amount of earthquake energy just might be real and could actually happen! Let us continue to watch San Francisco and Eureka, California as well as anywhere else up and down our West Coast for some more earthquake energy to be released in the coming hours and days! While these two DO add up to 7.8 Richters. . . that should have nothing to do with the size of the grand finale we are watching for. Hopefully this potential one will be at least somewhat smaller and I want to stay with the numbers I recall using in one of my other recent EQ Blogs concerning this matter at 5 or 6 Richters. Granted 4.2 Pocatello is kind of a huge foreshock for something major and IS headed up more towards Oregon, Mt. St. Helens or Seattle, I'll still go on saying the biggest I might expect at this point would be 6.5 but please don't quote me, and let's leave the range at 5 or 6 Richters. Do note that there have been a lot of small shakers associated with this alert already, and if they continue on and stay small that's one thing. . . if they turn into one major earthquake we shouldn't have to wait too long to find out! Something BIG Could Shake California!!!??? LOTS of Shakers in Last 24 Hours in California!!!

Now in addition to the several I just mentioned in last nights EQ Blog, I have to report many more 2 and 3 Richter Shakers covering virtually the entire state of California! We are still only expecting a Small to Medium Sized Earthquake, but would you LOOK at all of these since I wrote here last night: 2.7 Southwest 3 Miles from Malibu, 3.2 South 3 Miles from Malibu, 2.7 Yellowstone (Not in California), 3.1 Coalinga at 3:06am PDT, and most recently Lake Tahoe, a 2.7 Hollister, and a 2.8 at 5:32am PDT in Tahoe City!!! I don't have to tell all of my friends in California that there COULD be more of these and any seismologist will tell you they could jar something loose and lead to a Major Earthquake! Although. . . well nevermind, let us just mostly continue to be watching for something major! HUGE Snowfall Amounts! 2 Small NorCal Shakers Already!!!!! AND Any Car Repair Questions???

The snowfall totals are HUGE! Numbers are coming in much higher than a foot in many areas across Minnesota, Iowa, Dakotas, Colorado, etc. Snow just now being reported in Northern Wisconsin, too! We should be watching for earthquakes out around Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Eureka for the coming hours and days around 5 or 6 Richters. The Goose Lake region of far Northern California just had a 2.5 Richters Shaker at 5:27pm and Eureka shook at 2.5 also a couple hours ago at 7:20 both my time or CDT. WATCH for something more, yet, to shake out there!!!!!

New EQ Alert!!! California? West Coast? Let's Say 6 Richters!

Spots with over a foot of snow around Rochester, Minnesota and West into Colorado where Estes Park had 16.5 and a place called Owatonna, Minnesota was just reported with 15.5 inches of snow and it is still snowing there. While this seems to be an unbelievable situation for a May 2 Day, it may also turn out to be a May Earthquake for somebody who might not be expecting it. There was a similar event with one very heavy snowfall in the Carolinas and Malibu was struck by a 5.2 Richters Earthquake on January 1, 1979 so we can easily say 5 or 6 Richters for this possibly upcoming earthquake for Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Eureka, California.
