Small 3.7 Richters Anza! Effect of Full Moon?
Phone chimed early this afternoon, and when I checked and it was a small earthquake at Anza I was sort of surprised! But it didn't take too long for me to get over it! 3.7 with several smaller ones that also seemed to have registered and of course all within just hours of the exact moment of the March 2013 Full Moon! Up to this point I have understood it to be higher tides during times of full and new moons that affect plate tectonics. However after todays series of shakers at Anza it is now TWICE that there has been this sort of activity at Anza connected to the Full and New moons and Anza is nowhere near the ocean. That only leaves 1) Higher tides out at Mission Bay, Oceanside, and La Jolla bumping the shore and having some effect on a small fault line at Anza, or 2) Added pull of the moon when it is full or new actually causing added pull on the fault line at Anza all by itself and thus shaking. Of course it could be connected to BOTH, i suppose. So, let us watch Anza for a few more hours and see if tonights Moonrise which will be occurring at 8:03pm my local time, has anymore added effect. Just sayin' I don't think there should still be anything major shaking even if. Then, after tonight, nothing so far to follow, except more of my now famous sage advice on life!!! Thank-You Again for Reading! EQ Guy
