Lastnight it was all the way at the North of California as Eureka got a 3.0 40 Miles Offshore and Redding had a 2.0. . . BOTH directly on the line we are watching at the north of that state. NOW, Fontana very near the other line at the South of California has had 10.6 Richters of small earthquakes since I signed off late last night, see earlier EQ Blog from early today. 8 Small Earthquakes starting at around Midnight and running through 2, 3, and 5am and up until just now at 6 and 7am. Unknown if they will continue there or what, but what I do wish to say here is that any one of these major swarms could fairly easily become a major earthquake and Fontana could be very near the epicenter!
Keep watching up around Eureka, too, and San Francisco because we don't want to forget that both of these regions could be getting major earthquakes at any moment, now! Don't forget that these are two entirely different sources of major earthquake energy and if one DOES happen. . . we will still immediately need to continue watching for the other! Both potentially very dangerous earthquakes, too! And you could say that both regions are about overdue for an earthquake to strike!!! Be Prepared!!! EQ Guy
