This major swarm of small earthquakes up around the Mammoth Lakes Region of Northern California seems to have started around 8pm tonight Central, or 6pm Pacific Time out in California. As I am writing this EQ Blog entry there have just been about 20 Richters more and there was almost a hundred when I checked the list of latest earthquakes during the second intermission of the hockey game. Just this second the latest is a 2.2 that just this instant struck at Redway, 44 miles Southeast of Eureka! I will just guess that the major swarm that originally started down in Niland, shook around Coalinga last night and after shaking Mammoth Lake it will start shaking around Eureka, California next! The Triple Plate Junction will probably be next, but I am using my own methods of basic "Earth Mechanics" to make these determinations and am by no means an official forecaster and do not represent anybody in so doing.
Watch for Northern California to get a Major Earthquake as this series of Earthquake Swarms continues to move North! Just like we watch a major thunderstorm move across the map, we could here be watching a major source of earthquake energy travel across the region in the same manner, and it could become one very big and very dangerous earthquake in just the coming minutes, and hours!!!
