This Huge California Earthquake struck 6 miles South of Napa, California just 3 hours and 53 minutes BEFORE the exact moment of the August 2014 New Moon Window which followed immediately at 7:13am Pacific Time and will continue to run now through Tuesday. There have been as would be expected, a lot of aftershocks and the felt report on this is so huge that I will give it until later this afternoon to continue getting all caught up and then update it on a separate page at that time.
For now Berkeley 473, Half Moon Bay 70, Martinez 228, Milbrae 106, Daly City 162, Hayward 107, Oakland 958, Reno 2, Sacramento 340, San Francisco 2105, San Jose 890, Tehachapi 1, Venice 1, Belvidere-Tiburon 86, Monterey 3, Menlo Park 112, French Camp 1, and Mountain View 316. UPDATE: Amtrak temporarily canceled all trains around the Bay Area Early Sunday, BUT now seems to be back operating!!! Both of the long list of aftershocks and the long and growing list of felt reports will be updated later today, sorry for so much earthquake information being happening and I will have all of this up-to-date for my Early Monday Morning EQ Blog and if no more major shakers come along a Video Log, too!!!
Until then the New Moon Window Will Continue Through Tuesday at 7:13am Pacific Time with the EXACT MOMENT coming early Monday Morning, and so we will still need to keep watching around that now very shaky San Francisco-Oakland Region of course for more aftershocks, but there is always the chance something bigger could shake, and occasionally there is such a thing as MORE of the same in this case 6.1 Richters Aftershocks could follow! LOTS of sources of Major Earthquakes are still out there! I suppose it is possible this California shaking will take at least some of the pressure off the Iceland Volcano due to how Plate Tectonics works. . . sorry it has to be at the expense of a lot of our California Friends!
