I suppose you could call it the big news and that is that they have been getting a lot of earthquakes around the Monterrey Bay Region with an epicenter by the name of Ridgemark, California, or it looks like about 10 miles south of Ridgemark. Of course the largest of those including the one that caused my phone to ring at some point in the day on Friday at the bottom and the list reads up from there. Looks like that would have been the 3.0 at 4:44pm or the 3.4 at 6:32pm.
As of this writing the big Iceland Volcano has pretty much came and gone with one report having the whole eruption lasting about 4 hours and ending around 2:41am Iceland Time. In fact the real biggest part of that story is not even the Iceland eruption itself, rather the fact that another completely different volcano in the Pacific Islands had an even bigger eruption at about the same time! Yes, I was even about to write that when one volcano is about to erupt, quite commonly another generally will also be erupting due of course to whatever reason that works in that manner. I did notice Volcano, Hawaii and Redoubt Volcano, Alaska also suddenly showing up on those lists at around the same time as Iceland was doing all the shaking, but honestly have no idea what that's all about and as I say volcanoes are a bit out of my field. Finally it is the Anniversary of the landfall of Hurricane Katrina at Louisiana and into the day on Saturday as far as that huge Category 3 or 4 windstorm continued on with the Islamabad Earthquake following on October 8 with 75,000 deaths. As I now count the days closely, it looks like Day 39 or Day 40 following that landfall. Today most famous for the fact that the long winded landfall that continued to churn and maintain hurricane strength for so many hours that I forecast the earthquake that would follow would be of equal intensity to that landfall with a high number of huge aftershocks which today that Islamabad Earthquake is famous for.
Still more earthquakes out there headed for different places around the world so continue to watch! Possibly at least one MagaThruster, too! EQ Guy
