EQ Blog For Friday, October 21, 2016: Keep Watching Ecuador, Seattle, New Zealand!!! Might Have To Add Alaska and Nepal, Too!!! UPDATE: Big 6.8 Richters Earthquake Strikes JAPAN!!!

NOTE: This is Fridays EQ Blog. . . even though it looks like THURSDAY appears above, It's posted early Friday:

Just as I was about to run the Twitter-LINK to todays EQ Blog my PHONE RANG with a 6.6 Richters Earthquake in the area of 100 Miles North of Tokyo although in the midst of a region called Tottori and just a few miles east of a 50,000 population city of Kurayoshi. Could have done some damage and not the end of the shaking in Japan or elsewhere in the world as todays EQ Blog goes on into! Here's Fridays already written Edition of EQ Blog:

Here's all of that Earthquake Energy that could right now be headed directly for Ecuador!!! It's currently Day 32 on that Prediction and the last BIG Ecuador Earthquake struck on something like Day 50 so we'll keep watching at least till around November 1, 2016 but this one is probably going to strike there soon! Also the previous one was accompanied by tons of fore shocks and this here Offshore Ecuador Earthquake could be one of those:

Now I have to report today that that 6.5 for Seattle/Vancouver/Cascadia is passing as far as that October 19 end date is concerned. So we'll be extending this alert PAST Seattle, to Alaska and onto Nepal, there!!! I'm thinking along the magnitude still being like a 6.5 or so even for Alaska where the possiblilty of a much bigger one seems possible and I suppose the alert for Seattle/Vancouver/Cascadia should continue a while, yet, too. . . because a big one COULD still strike up that way you know!!!

This just looked like a little more shaking than usual around Tennessee! We should still watch for something to shake that region as the result of Hurricane Matthew in that Region:

1.6 1km WSW of Vonore, Tennessee 2016-10-20 16:49
1.8 12km NNW of Lenoir City, Tennessee 2016-10-20 07:18
2.0 4km NNE of Greenback, Tennessee 2016-10-20 04:20

Although I hadn't added any alerts for California. . . just a lot of the usual movement of the Pacific Tectonic Plate that could always affect California and might be connected to shaking at these locations near San Francisco on Thursday:

1.5 2km N of Piedmont, California 2016-10-20 19:34
2.5 16km N of Morgan Hill, California 2016-10-20 14:35
2.3 16km N of Morgan Hill, California 2016-10-20 14:29
1.0 14km ESE of Alum Rock, California 2016-10-20 10:43

AND the same goes for these locations near Los Angeles:
1.4 1km SE of Marina del Rey, CA 2016-10-20 08:26
1.3 3km ESE of Marina del Rey, CA 2016-10-20 07:41

Keep watching for those earthquakes and be prepared!!! Good-Weekend, Everybody!!! EQ Guy

It doesn't seem much to worry about, but what I'm really concerned is the big one. I recently read a book (bit.ly/LAPrepperGuide) which was really helpful with getting my family and I prepare for the big one and a whole ton of other disaster planning (pandemics, fire, tsunamis, terrorism), but for me, earthquakes are the really big worry.

In the L.A. Region as with all shaky regions, it would be a good idea to keep "Earthquake Preparation" supplies nearby as well as located outside around your house where they could be accessed in such an emergency. Food, water, tools, and stuff other folks recommend is good idea!!! Thank-You For Writing!!! EQ Guy
