4.4 San Simeon Downgraded to a 4.0 and MegaStorm About To Strike California!!!

Here's the link to the felt report from that 4.4 that struck at San Simeon on Thursday also had many aftershocks: http://eqalert.blogspot.com/2014/02/44-at-san-simeon-california-downgraded.html It was downgraded at some point to a 4.0 but I always reference the original magnitude due to that commonly being the name given to the earthquake as is the case with this one. Sometimes it seems like 4.0 may not do justice to it in the same way.

Just heard the MegaStorm that is headed for California has 160 mph Jet Stream speed and have not figured out if that is a direct relation to an actual windspeed of 160 mph or not. Although it would seem to be the same 160 mph wind as if it was a typhoon it is too early to say if that will be a major affect on any damage this storm might ultimately do on the parts of California where it affects. Until then it appears it is now time once more to begin watching California for more earthquakes. . . as sorry as I am to have to say it!

This might now also be a brand new alert that previously did not exist nor would it then be any part at all of existing ones! Therefore we will be waiting to see exactly how serious of a storm this turns out to be, and then assess the damages and thus decide if earthquakes could be the result.

Unfortunately it is possible we will be finding out before we assess the damages since big storms have been known historically to coincide with earthquakes at least around Malibu and probably up and down that entire coastal area of California. They could be shaking at the same time as all this big rainfall is striking so be alert!!! And there will likely be earthquakes to follow considering they are talking 2 or 3 feet of snow in the Sierras and lots more in the Rockies, too! Severe Winter keeps right on a going, doesn't it!!! And 2 to 3 more feet of snow for Mammoth Mountain, too!!! Keep Watching Mammoth Lakes and all of California for Earthquakes!!! EQ Guy
