And a great picture of the ice on my lake picking up rocks and moving them!!! @ THIS is a huge chunk of ice from frozen Lake Koshkonong pushing against the shore and picking up some fairly big rocks in the process and moving them farther inland to eventually contribute to the formation of the point that juts out into the lake, I suppose.
Have to add today that there may be less chance of concern for earthquakes for our West Coast and California, but it is not known if this reduction will apply for areas over and around Japan and some other regions of the globe such as possibly South America and Chile due to the fact that Japan and Tokyo did report getting tons of snow during like January and reports of snow melting off will only apply to North America and may be irrelevant to things happening on the other side of the globe. So while it is now a much greatly diminished alert for California, this could explain why the Carlsberg Ridge is getting a minor swarm of 4 and 5 Richter Earthquakes which could eventually lead to a small major earthquake in that region. . . however it is my opinion that this series of 5's should not equal too big of major shaker, however something could still be out there so keep watching the other side of the world a while, too!
So the 1.8 that just struck at Universal City just before midnight as well as another smaller one that struck Newport Beach might well continue on for a while and even with that New Moon on Saturday, but with no real major earthquake energy out there for us to worry about. A report of only 36 percent of our country with snow cover and it continues to melt much faster than it will be falling for the foreseeable future! Hopefully that will mean an all clear is coming but for now let's just consider the range reduced to 5.5 to 6.8 Richters. Thank-You for Reading!!! EQ Guy
