The answer to the question is Old Faithful seismically active seems like it might be answered by the swarm of like 5 or so small earthquakes that struck 14km from there in recent hours. I suppose if you really think about it. . . that big of a thing with such a huge steam vent sort of does indicate that there is something going on there, but I guess I was just never sure that meant seismic activity. What kind of thing is that there, anyways a vent of some kind, AND is it ever possible that something like Old Faithful could be the epicenter and if so of how big an earthquake?
Just noticed the September New Moon Window actually started early Wednesday at 6:36am my time, 4:36am Pacific and the actual moment of the New Moon will be Thursday morning at 4:36am Pacific. So we will be watching especially due to the fact that there is right now a lot of smallish earthquake energy and still one possible big one, although there has been quite a lot of big energy just released up in the Alaska Islands. . . Utor could still be out there so we will watch well into around September 23 or Day 43 and also close to the September Full Moon on September 19.
Tropical Storm Gabrielle has just formed and is looking like it is making landfall at Dominican Republic as I am writing and looks like it might also generate enough seismic energy there to also be an immediate earthquake threat, too! So also watch that immediate area for some fair sized shakers. . . . . but also RICHMOND/WDC!!!!! Could be in the range of 5 or 6 Richters and when Hurricane Irene hit there one night the 5.9 was the very next day!!! Be Prepared Washington, DC!!!!! EQ Guy
Edit: T.S. Gabrielle is actually affecting Puerto Rico, which is where the landfall preceded that Virginia 5.9
