At the same time as we are seeing a lot of big windstorm activity down around the Southern Tip of the Baja California Peninsula, we just also now seen a 6.6 shake Guatemala very near Guatemala City with 73 felt reports from that city. This could have been a much worse earthquake if it struck much closer to a larger population but tells us just the same that it is possible a lot of this new earthquake energy could be heading north along an imaginary line that follows in the direction where these now 2 or 3 Hurricanes and Tropical Storms have struck at B.C.
Just now as I signed on Saturday Morning I also just found a small shaker at Millbrae, Calfornia on San Francisco Bay, and hope no more follow since that is also the town where I changed from the Bay Area Rapid Transit to the Cal-Train, as well as the town where I traveled up Millbrae Avenue to the San Andreas Trail and a great view of beautiful San Andreas Lake. I also toured their very beautiful downtown before getting back on B.A.R.T. and heading back to my motel after visiting the USGS in Menlo Park that day!
So, now hear this. . . we might need to start watching California for a small earthquake in the coming hours and days, but shouldn't hardly be enough to disturb a lot of people. Remember to keep watching around Richmond, Washington DC, and our East Coast for another, this time probably smaller earthquake any minute now, too! EQ Guy
