Not that unusual to see West Yellowstone getting earthquakes at all, but a 3.4 and 2.9 at 7:55 and 7:58 respectively is very close to the equivilent of one 6.3 by the advance numbering/calculation system that I am busily working to perfect! Of course it will still need a lot of work but it probably has something to do with the number of seconds apart these things strike, and number of miles apart, and total number of Richters. For now I'm adding them up and giving them to you. . . but in the future multiples of .7 or .8 percent for time and space distance will certainly be in order.
Now the update on Mammoth Lakes is that there were a number of additional smallish shakers over night and here they are:

No running total as of yet, I will total them up for my next EQ Blog if they continue, though. What I think is the main cause for concern with all of this new earthquake energy striking at Mammoth Lakes is the fact that this is now as a rule PRECEDING the major shaking of something else, somewhere else. I'll guess New Zealand or Anchorage/Alaska, but Seattle and California could get some of this, too. It is my opinion that this Mammoth Lakes Swarm AND all the major shaking they are getting at Yellowstone WILL equal more major earthquakes in the coming hours and days with that Full Moon now only about a week away as well as today being Day 33 after the landfall of Super Typhoon Utor at Philippines. . . and Friday #13!!!!!
