Been watching for this one and even more, yet! Not too surprised only thinking they may be getting a bigger earthquake. . . or even one that could follow or down the road. In any event this 4.3 struck at 5:47am Central Time today and was felt extensively, I noticed in Shawnee, Oklahoma many miles south of Oklahoma city and the epicenter. Here is the felt report and I will update it later today: http://eqalert.blogspot.com/2014/06/43-struck-12-miles-northeast-of.html
Of course as always you can just go to my latest EQ V-Log and read all about the fact that we are presently watching Texas and Oklahoma for just such an earthquake! CLICK Arrow to Watch:
AND some great video there from this weekends Chicago Blues Festival and I hope nobody minds if there was some Aaron Neville, Nikki Hill, and Doctor John in there, too! As well as that alert for Oklahoma!!!
With the landfall now as I mentioned in the vid of Hurricane Cristina at Socorro Island, we will now be watching for a whole lot MORE Major Earthquake energy and I am now going as big as 7 Richters but being somewhat uncertain of the interaction between big hurricanes and tiny islands such as Socorro Island. . . just tough to guess exactly how much of the potential energy from the hurricane actually shakes the tiny island, so let us say 7 for now but remember as of this writing it is possible a 7.5 or possibly even a little bigger could be the result. In the days that follow I will look more into this correlation and try to have a better range for you!
Now we will need to add California and Mexico but also be watching closely for an earthquake right there in the Mainland Area of Mexico and maybe Mexico City since they are rather near all the action! Also keep watching Texas, Oklahoma, New Madrid, Illinois, Iceland, Azores, and possibly Richmond for more of that 5.5 Richters I've been talking about!!! Thank-You for Reading!!! EQ Guy
(Note that a 5.7 also struck Northwest Alaska moments ago and I will update later with more about that!)
