The page kept scrolling and scrolling and the list of earthquakes striking at or near Mt. Hood kept on, and kept on, and kept on and it was looking like aftershocks and I was going to be coming across a major shaker at some point along this list! Looks, though like this is just the latest Major Swarm that is probably the result of all the potential Major Earthquake Energy that I'm about to tell you all about! First, here is the whole entire list updated as of the writing of this EQ Blog and I may have to update it during the day at some point: http://eqalert.blogspot.com/2014/06/lots-of-earthquakes-in-mt-hood-oregon.html COULD become the epicenter of something major. . . but recent experience is looking like it will be major but somewhere else! Lately one of those most common somewhere else's has been Offshore Eureka so be watching Northern California!!!
The other most notable things going on are the expiration of all alerts based on the tornadoes that struck Beaufort County, North Carolina on April 25, and Mayflower Missouri on April 27, 2014 due to the final days that we follow such things now having passed as of June 15, and June 17.
The ones that are going to be the most worrisome in coming days are that landfall of Hurricane Amanda at Clarion Island on May 27, with Day 31 after that big windstorm coming up on June 27 and the New Moon the June 27 at 8:11 UTC, or 3:11 Central/1:11 Pacific. So we will need to be really watching as of Wednesday this week and with all the action at Mt. Hood it looks like it is going to be an exciting June 2014 New Moon, too!!! This particular landfall suggested Texas, Oklahoma, and further to the north such as New Madrid, Illinois, and Iceland and watch those upcoming days now in particular because they are associated with a much higher number of earthquake resultants from just such big windstorms!!! Oh, Yes. . . and Oklahoma is about due for their next big 4.3 Richters Shaker at any moment! That is unless they are going to start hitting 5 there!
Tropical Storm Boris made landfall at Mexico/Guatamala on June 2, 2014 and will also contribute to all of that going on from Texas, to Oklahoma, to New Madrid, Chicago, and Iceland somewhat duplicating the path taken by the earthquake energy a few days earlier at Clarion Island of Hurricane Amanda, so I won't go into that discussion too much further besides to add Day 21 after that landfall is June 23, 2014.
The landfall of Hurricane Cristina at Socorro Island is a whole entirely different problem that will need to be worked out beyond what I can tell you about right this moment. This one struck with 150mph winds and continued on to the Northwest and so far did not shake that island region as one might have expected although it certainly did strike there with all the winds as the visible satellite clips showed! Problem tracking this is that there are two basic routes the earthquake energy could have taken. Either movement of the Pacific Tectonic Plate in one general direction which could help explain the recent 6.4 Vanuatu Earthquake on the 19th, and the other is possible straight line earthquake energy which would then possibly first strike Central America in the 6 or 7 Range which does not seem to have happened, yet. So, I suppose we should watch for both, although the timeline for a Cristina resultant is a little farther down the road yet with Day 21 after that landfall being July 5, and Day 33 being July 17, yet.
So, that leaves us with the tornadoes that struck Pilger, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and South Dakota, et.el. With those dates being June 16, and 17, 2014 and Day 10 after those tornadoes also coming up on June 27 and also right there in the middle of the June New Moon! However the biggest problem as usual on those big windstorms is the great difficulty in getting an accurate "Path on the Ground" for the purposes of attempting to track where the earthquake might strike. For the moment we will just have to add an alert in the name of those big windstorms and I will try to have more info on them hoping it is not urgent enough that we will need that on Monday if you know what I mean. And Day 31 after all those tornadoes will come on July 18, anyways.
Now you are up-to-date on all of the upcoming Major Earthquakes pretty much everywhere in the world!!! Basically that big one that is out there unaccounted for is our biggest major trouble but if it follows a straight line, then I see Ecuador, Peru, Philippines, and Jakarta, Sumatra, Indonesia when I checked the globe for exactly where this possible 7.6 Richters Earthquake might strike! The New Moon could be a factor, but we will also have to watch into July in all of those regions, too! Be Watching and Be Prepared!!! EQ Guy
