UPDATE: 5.8 Offshore From Coos Bay, Oregon! Felt all over Washington and Oregon and with now several big aftershocks!!! THIS Could now be something major going on up around Seattle and Mt. St. Helens!!! OR Northern California could be next, too! This activity was preceded by a 7.8 Offshore Japan Earthquake on Saturday and similar movements of the Pacific Plate could be coming!!! Full Moon Window will officially start around 11am Central Time on Monday!!! Exact Moment will be 11:22am Tuesday and window runs through Wednesday. I have been saying up to this point that it did NOT look like there was too much going on, but that was before the 6.7 Alaska Islands Earthquake that must have pushed the Pacific west and resulted in the 7.8 Offshore Japan Earthquake. NOW as a result of the fact that it looks like there is the possibility that there could be more, I must say to watch Philippines, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and parts of China for some serious shaking as the June Full Moon shines high overhead! I still want to say it should be the end of all the shaking and I suppose it is possible that it COULD be sort of an all clear for many parts of the world not affected by the slight 7.8 Richters movement over around the west corner of the Pacific. That will push into either New Guinea, Indonesia, or west into the Indian Ocean Tectonic Plate and all over again increase the pressure on all the already moving tectonic plates around Nepal. This could become a far different movement considering that the major earthquakes from the last couple weeks was that plate moving south. . . and it may now be moving WEST!!! Thinking about it that could mean earthquakes around the Pakistan, Afghanistan Region unless there could be significant slipping motion around Kathmandu. Be watching for what will happen there, but remember the full moon will increase the shaking in general over in all those already shaky, shaky regions!!!
MOVIE REVIEW: San Andreas!!! For my biggest fans who enjoy reading my EQ Blog a lot on like a regular basis, this movie starts out sounding a lot like my everyday ramblings! I was hanging on every word when they were at Cal-Tech and talking about how they were on the verge of knowing when the next earthquake was going to strike! Then the first of the very big earthquakes strikes and the movie is engulfed in the science of Major Earthquakes first-hand! From that point on, there continues to be some occasional Cal-Tech sort of stuff, but then a lot of Dewayne "The Rock" Johnson, too, of course being the star of this Major Earthquake Vehicle. So much talk about the San Andreas Fault and with me watching it I was tempted to always want to add a few things to what they were saying but it was all so accurate already that there was never too much left to add to what they were saying. Then just when it hadn't occurred to me a tsunami might strike. . . guess what happened next? I can leave it at that without giving away the ending and that way you will have to see this movie to see the Great Ending!!!!! EQ Guy Gives This Movie: 5-Stars!!!!!
Hurricane Andre is now a CAT-4 and is just west of Mexico with windspeeds at 140mph and at the same time there was just a 4.6 Richters in between La Paz and Cabo San Lucas. Hurricane Andre is expected to weaken in the near future but 140mph winds with higher gusts with Clarion Island in that region could now add to the earthquake situation especially considering that a 4.6 just struck! Again, just one or two small islands, but add the 7.8 Offshore Japan and the June Full Moon and we should be watching for the next few days for some earthquakes!!! EQ Guy
