Just in at press time a 4.7 struck Offshore 50 Miles from Ferndale and 60 miles from Eureka, California! Started as a 4.5, upgraded to a 4.7 and now a 4.6 so leave I'll leave it at that. I will have the latest most updated felt reports from that region at the end of this EQ Blog and try to keep it updated throughout the day! Now back to the regular EQ Blog I was a writing:
At first glance it didn't look like much, just another routine 1.7 Richter tiny shaker with the name Nevada attached to it. Not even sure why I even clicked on it, I suppose I always like to check when I do not know the name of the town right off hand. Thinking about it didn't I just write about Nevada in yesterdays EQ Blog? If so, then let me also add that it may be more than a coincidence and the reason I'm writing today about such a tiny shaker so near to Downtown Las Vegas is out of concern that it just might be inevitable they could get a long overdue good shaking! Close look reveals the epicenter to have been about exactly 10 miles from Beautiful Downtown Las Vegas and right out there at the edge of where a lot of the expansion has been going on since the last time I was out there. I know it isn't much, but I also know there is always the chance Las Vegas will become the epicenter of a 6 or 7 Richters Earthquake and when that happens it will shake up The Strip, and not knowing how earthquake proof that city is or if they have all the games bolted down real good, or how well all the neon is attached. . . but I could take a guess!
Another or continuing swarm seems to be striking around Puerto Rico, there was a 3.6 South of Pueblo, Colorado and a lot of other places have been getting a lot of earthquakes including Yellowstone and you can check out the list from there right here:
