The exact moment of the January 2014 Full Moon ACTUALLY WAS at 10:54pm Central, 8:54pm Pacific on the evening of Tuesday, January 14 or last night and the exact moment of that huge 4.4 at Fontana was 3:35am Central, 1:35 Pacific or a difference of exactly 4 hours and 41 minutes!!! That means this Fontana Earthquake struck 4 hours after the exact moment of the Full Moon but as a lot of you reading already know the January 2014 Full Moon WAS high overhead while the thousands and thousands of folks who felt it were filling out the reports and submitting to the USGS and there are so many that I posted the entire list for anybody who wants to see the names of pretty much every town in Southern California followed by the number of people who reported: http://eqalert.blogspot.com/2014/01/44-fontana-california-felt-report.html SUCH AS a dozen reports from Beverly Hills, 16 from Burbank, 10 from Compton, 66 from Covina, 57 from Diamond Bar, 360 from Fontana at the epicenter, 36 from Laguna Niguel, 6 from Laguna Beach, 90 from Long Beach, 13 from Mt. Baldy, 30 from Newport Beach, 1 from Northridge, 139 from Ontario, 16 from Pico Rivera, 45 from Pomona, 370 from Rancho Cucamonga, 3 from Running Springs, 17 from Santa Monica, 13 from Sherman Oaks, 4 from Silverado, 1 from all the way up in Simi Valley, 6 from Studio City, 2 from Sylmar, 4 from Sunland, 1 from Valencia, 31 from Whittier, a dozen from Woodland Hills, and finally 10 from Wrightwood! Many, many more so please feel free to check out the list!!!
Of course I have to mention the fact that I had already written all about it in the EQ Blog that I wrote late last night after returning home from my first day of work on my new job!!! (Still a couple hours before Fontana shook) You might want to check out that EQ Blog from late last night where the headline reads: . . . . . Malibu Shaker=Sure Thing??? @ http://earthquakealert.blogspot.com/2014/01/33-strikes-one-mile-west-of-hollister.html SCROLL DOWN to get that whole story about my new job, too! Nice Pic of me at the Microphone, too!!!!!
Finally we should continue to watch for more Major Earthquake Energy out around Los Angeles and pretty much all of California and I heard something about Santa Ana Winds and so be aware that they can always be a factor in triggering earthquakes such as Fontana was also place of high winds!
Anniversary of Northridge Earthquake on Friday and January Full Moon Alert runs through Thursday so there will still be a lot to be watching out for, although we do seem to be getting some shaking right now!!! Keep Watching!!! EQ Guy
